Lol ... I was just going to say the Costco deal is the one I got and was surprised at the "extras" that it came with. I guess I didn't read the description carefully when I purchased. I missed the $100 off $500 coupon code / deal but got in on the $50 one.

The bag is the nicer bag and it comes with an extra battery + 32GB SD card as well. Little adders that make it a nice deal overall. Never had a drone before and so far it's awesome! Super portable when folded up and DJI makes it easy to fly / navigate through any rules, etc. What sold me was the price point compared to image / video quality. There are others cheaper but the image & video quality ends up taking a hit. Keep in mind this doesn't have obstacle avoidance, but I wouldn't trust flying w/o line of sight anyways (and the rules say you need to do this) so this is a great entry.

lol thanks boss. I realize I said "m" when I meant feet. You're absolutely correct in that flying too high can result in injury / death. I'll adjust my post to clarify.

That being said, the app & system has the appropriate checks and balances that make the general user adhere to the rules & regulations of their area. It is actually a pretty decent system in that regard and I was surprised at the implementation so far.

For those who don't know where and what you can fly, DJI has more information at https://www.dji.com/flysafe. You can also visit the FAA site https://faadronezone.faa.gov/ for more information on the various rules. Most people won't need the Part 107.

There are also a myriad of apps that make it easy to check your zones / rules / regulations, etc. beyond the DJI Fly app which already has it baked in as well.

let's just be clear for the record. it is illegal to fly your drone at 400m today because the government says so. i have never exceeded the 400 feet legal altitude for recreational pilots. however, plenty of drones have lost connection or blown away and have ended up at 400m and nobody has died. in other countries, plenty of people fly at 400m. criminals in america fly over 400 feet....daily. and apparently lots of people fly off the side of a mountain and end up at 2000 feet agl unbeknownst. let's please trying not to link drones to high risk of death or injury; there is no such thing; nobody has died; ever. it's bad; it's very bad. but the actual risk of a crash or injury or death is tiny tiny, super tiny. flying a drone is low risk and i hate to say it even if you are careless (not reckless). it suffices to say please fly your drone at 400 feet or lower because it's the law (and the fines are high) until the government says it ok when they start allowing fedex and ups and amazon to fly at 400m....then it's ok because it's "under control." I briefly flew up to 1200 plus feet straight up to get my entire property in frame to take a photo and and legitimately thought someone was going to show up at my front door at some point. Otherwise there's little reason to go above the legal limit. I am just happy to be able to fly.

Yep, weighed getting the Mini vs the Mini 2 and got the Mini 2 in the Costco deal, it's really much better than the Mini in so many ways, the Mini is kind of a bad buy at this point.

Buy Costco $440 mini2 combo instead. Mini 2 4k video vs mini 2.7k, OcuSync 2.0 transmission vs WiFi transmission. Mini2 is way better than mini, there is no reason to buy mini now.

i returned mine its too small to fly stable in long distnace shots. i did buy it from amazon.com on this exact deal oct 20th for $299 - reference is they should be cheaper than this now and new ones out, or at least cough up some extra crap for the same price on out dated tech!!

Costco bundle is not as big as "fly more" bundle in OP. Costco is just a mini bag, SD card, and one spare battery.

But you're right that the newer version can be had for a similar price.

The Mini 2 is such a step up over the Mini 1 that you should definitely buy it over a Mini 1 fly more package. Ocusync and the upgraded sensor are massive upgrades that change the game
