Try home automation software like Domoticz, HomeAssistant, HomeSeer, SmartThings, etc. They pretty much all provide local control of these devices.

Make sure you're able to use them. These things require neutral wires so older homes can't take them.

For initial setup, yes. For control, Google, Alexa, and to a lesser extent Siri all provide unified control through either the app or voice platform. These are usually the simplest, but there is a slew of other options that I see are being mentioned.
Same here. I added all my Kasa switches into SmartThings and I have a SmartThings plug-in on Homebridge so all those Kasa Switches show up on Homekit, along will all my other SmartThings devices and sensors.
No. These are on/off only. Dimmer switch is more money.
