Decent price, but I am going to guess its because it was a highly demanded cpu many months ago and now not many people need overpriced cpus anymore so they probably have a huge supply they cant sell because people stopped buying them so are forced to drop prices.

Its only $30 off anyways. This should have been a $200-250 cpu anyways.

Agree. Got a 2700x back in 2019 for $160 and Newegg sells open box for $269 now. Just can't get behind this pricing. This chip should be a $200 chip at this point.

They also sell pre-built systems now and have fine print saying high demand low stick items will be reserved for ppl buying the pre-built systems. I think people like them and urlhasbeenblocked aren't thinking about the post covid market when they've pissed off loyal customers (well for new egg, @nt online was irrelevant prior to hardware shortages, but their overpriced bundles ensure I won't ever be a customer and they will be forgotten about again after the shortages are over)

It wasn't just raising prices, it was raising prices and bundling hot items with crap no one wants. Also not all retailers did that. So it seems not everyone needed to be shit bags about it.

3600 was $150 last year. 5600x should be $200 in 2021.
