I picked up a refurb 48CX from MC for $999 3 weeks ago and it was brand new and sealed. The protective stickers were still on the panel and the TV had 0 hours on it. I do however have to state that the store had 3 of them in stock and two were in a generic brown packaging. I picked the one that was on the LG official box. Also, mine's a weird AUB model that I can't find much info about online, however it is WiSA certified.
Yes, I can confirm with the paperwork. But I've heard mostly, they just give you the store credit if they can't find you one that is similar. Not sure if they plug it in to even check that it's broken.

Not sure if at microcenter but sam's was (is?) clearing this exact model (new not refurb*) out at 1999. Very ymmv but I suppose it does happen.
This was an open box deal that was posted at $1999. Pretty misleading
1. This deal is for a refurb so open box would typically be preferable.
2. The deal I'm referring to was BNIB anyway... https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/15105322

No, not without the most YMMV posts of all time. They end up selling out before that point.
If you want to spend $2k, you're pretty much limited to the used market.
