They killed off one of the main characters from the first game. A few idiots that were critical of the story sent death threats to the director and some of the voice actors. Regular fans that had issues with the story were lumped in with those rotten apples and labeled racists, homophobes and misogynists. Naughty dog also hired a shell company to copyright strike anyone that was talking about the story leaks before the game came out. Even people that were just discussing the leaks and not showing any images or video. That's just my two cents from my perspective. I just don't see how attacking your customers is good business.
I think people need to get over themselves. The game is perfectly fine. It's not woke just because there are lesbians in the game. I enjoyed my time with it. Pick it up if you haven't already. 20 bucks is a steal.
I loved the game, masterpiece

that's what you're worried about? a built woman, fueled by nothing more than revenge, with an impressive gym facility where the soldiers live.
there's no question as to why there's a few dudes that are huge too? dudes don't naturally get massive either ya know, right?

besides... we're worried about the muscle structure of the humans when there's Clickers and Shamblers running around!?!?!

I'm so very confused by these comments.
You guys are some sad dudes.
Calm down… it was a joke and play on some of the unrealistic additions made to this sequel to appease some people. And yes, biologically, men do grow muscles easier due mostly to testosterone. Not to mention the amount of clean protein one needs to consume to build.

Please do not post spoilers for this masterpiece.

Do not take anyone seriously who claims that this game "too woke" or whatever other ridiculous criticism they have. That's just intellectually lazy and a worthless drive by comment.

It's best to first:

1) Play the first game if you haven't

2) Play this game and form your own opinion without the influence of others

Even in the event that you don't like where the story goes, I can promise you that from a gameplay perspective, you're playing the best third person shooter ever created. It's literally unrivaled.

This was one of the few games that I immediately restarted replaying after it was finished.

It's extremely brutal, dynamic, intense, and full of impressive AI systems that work together beautifully.

It's one of the most accessible games as well (tons of settings to customize the experience for the disabled and non-disabled).

The gunplay, sound design, music, Naughty Dog's motion matching animation tech, facial animations, graphics... all superb.

I felt that they made a game that's a generation ahead.

Days Gone was the next game I tried playing through after beating this. After playing it once, I ended up uninstalling it. Not to say that it was terrible, but TLoU really ruined it for me, lol...

To give some additional context, I had just beaten RDR2 before (which I think is arguably a better looking and more technically impressive looking game). TLOU part II blows it out of the water in the gameplay department and it's not even close. Visually they both look God-tier, but I give the edge to RDR2. TLoU wins on the facial animations and overall responsiveness easily.

I played both on PS5 and I played TLoU Part II on hard and survivor+ (will probably replay again at some point because the encounters are that fun).

I also think the story was very good, especially when you compare to most other games across all genres. It's still very character driven, which is in-line with Naughty Dog's method of delivering memorable experiences told through the narrative.

The game is all about perspective and everything is not so black and white, which makes it a bit thought provoking when putting certain characters decisions in-scope.

I can understand why some people may not like it, but I hope that you're smart enough to distinguish from the posters here who have their own agenda in preventing you from playing this.

Don't miss out on one of the best games ever created.

Play it and form your own opinion.
Damn good response. Ive heard bad things about this game which made me leary... you may have just convinced me to try it out.

Nothing that hasn't been said already, but I loved this game. Maybe the first was a little better, but part two was absolutely amazing too.

I don't understand the dumbasses that get all worked up about a lesbian couple and claim a left agenda being pushed, but if you're someone that loses their shit about a little romance between two women, go ahead and skip this.

"unrealistic additions"...
lol, again Clickers and Shamblers. i'm unsure why anything needs to be what you consider "realistic"...

but yes, super funny joke bro, keep up the humor... really adding some levity to the hate filled comments always posted on deals for this game.

For those who have played the 1st game and DLC on hard mode with listening mode off, I played this on hard for my first play through and just did not use the listening mode. It was annoying because listening mode is part of some character upgrade trees, but it still worked out fine.

I also really encourage you either invest in decent headphones or a good speaker system. It's an essential part of the experience and the best I've heard in the game. I envy those who have a proper 7.1 setup.

The game also does have a few cheap jump scare moments, lol..

Tons of cringe comments about this game being woke because of a gay character and possible trans. Get your religious hatred off this board and out of existence. Imagine being so insecure that you can't handle LGBTQ in a video game lmao.

Great price for a solid game.

This game is a prime example of trying to smash an agenda down people's throat they didn't want. I wouldn't accept this game for free, too bad the "woke" crowd wasn't big enough to make this garbage a success lol.
Other commenters have addressed this concept but...i just don't understand this. Is the "agenda being forced down people's throats" that the main character is gay...? It's not like she spends the game advocating for the rights of gay people or forcing you to sit through a cut-scene on critical race theory lol. Is it that people are pissed off that 99% of media isn't just made up of straight white people anymore? How insecure can you be? Relax.

I don't really care about any of the whole woke crap. I just hate that they built an entire game around assassinating (both morally and physically) the two characters that everyone had come to know and love.

It wouldn't be as big of a deal had all if it meant… anything. But it doesn't. It burns everyone and everything meaningful down for the Saturday morning cartoon moral of "Revenge is bad".

I want the next God of War to end with Kratos making out with Thor just to see the "anti-woke" crowd's reactions.
you can see the last God of War not actually end or finish up any of the story lines at all... as well as leave entire areas that can be seen from the fast travel system, not be available.
followed by nobody throwing a hissy-fit about it. damn that game pissed me off LMAO

but agreed, throw a member of the alphabet-mafia in the mix... WORST GAME EVER, I THREW MY CONSOLE IN THE FIREPLACE BECAUSE OF IT!!!

I strongly disliked the direction of the story and characters but its gameplay wise its worth playing. It looked visually great but I would wait for the eventual remaster PS5 edition.

If you are a fan of the first game, STAY AWAY from the sequel. I was a TLOU and Naughty Dog die-hard fanboy, pre-ordered the sequel. I was so disappointed that I was almost depressed for a while. Gameplay is excellent, graphics and art design perfect, but storytelling is a disaster.

This game was perfect as-is. Seriously, I don't care about what people consider "woke", it's just good storytelling that doesn't fit an existing mold. Seriously raged though on that one surprise I didn't expect.
