Which one do you recommend? They all have their own swag...hHmMm
Silver. Looks good against the dark color of the keyboard keys and doesn't show scratches and abrasions as much as the other colors do. I've got a 9 year old silver MBA with lots of mileage on it and it looks great.

Not sure if this has been posted, but if you are a member of the Best Buy Beta program, you also get AppleCare for free. I was surprised to see that, but it is a great benefit. I only have it as I bought an A80J and got it for the warranty and tv mounting.

I was wondering if anyone can help me. My daughter has wanted a Mac the last few years mainly because it's the "In thing" especially for college students. Being a single mom it wasnt really something I could splurge on. Well things have changed. Promotion and paid my car off this year. I bought her an HP for 350.00 during Covid to finish her Senior year once they were sent home for the remainder of the school year. She used it for her first (2) semesters of college and it's crap. I'd like to get her something better for college this year. But now she's hesitant about the Mac lol. She has
some slight learning disabilities and gets overwhelmed very easily. Shes is now worried that trying to convert to Mac operating systems may be to overwhelming for her because she's only ever used windows. Does anyone have a suggestion of a really good quality windows laptop or should we try out the Mac? I've been asking everyone I know the past year and have gotten no solid advise. School starts in a few weeks and I want to get her something soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated Smilie
I don't believe Mac is an "in thing"... it just works out of the box... most of my macs that I had work at least 5-7 years before it shows its age. I have both Mac and Window computers, and yes there are some thing that works well on Window and some that work on the Mac, but I have Mac as my primary computer for work and personal (my work is based on using excel, pdf, emails (...Accountant)... so it does the job fine). It also depends what will your daughter use the computer for, like for what classes, what programs will she need to run on (if the programs compatible on the mac).

I would suggest trying a Mac out, and if your daughter doesn't like it, or it doesn't work for her, you can always return it within the return period. But I think once you give some time to learn it... you'll not look back.

Aw, I bought last week for $800 from Bestbuy, will they price match?
Yes! They have a 1 month recovery for the extra you paid than what you would have gotten the product. Just go to the store or call them.

This is actually a bad thing, if businesses offer the convenience and the benefit of just returning something you bought and didn't like for any reason. Any low practice like this will result in a bad shopping experience. A lot of companies are starting to put a restocking fee on products that barely cost any money

You can try any Windows laptop that has at least 8 GB RAM and SSD. That should work definitely for her college with in the budget around $400. But if you need very high end just like Mac book then better to buy Surface book

I am on the same boat with you... $750 for a MBA is really hard to pass, but I'm debating on just waiting for the MBP refresh. I'm planning on getting an iMac 24in for work (outlooks, excel, pfd and web surfing) and debating on what I should get for "on the go" work/personal laptop. Want something powerful, but not sure if the M1 on the MBA is the same on the MBP... (same internal/processor), just different exterior and a handful of features??? *shrugs*. Currently have a MBA (2014; barely surviving) and MBP (2017; as main work/personal)...
Same chips in both but better cooling in the MBP results in better performance.

Still so confused who actually uses touchscreens on laptops
Little kids. When they mess with my Mac, they keep pressing on the screen and don't get why it won't work. So it's a feature.

Also, most non-techie and MS users, as they've never used a good multitouch touchpad and/or don't know the gestures.

What is your budget ? If it is $600, this Samsung laptop should work great for. CHeck this link;

I think it would make sense for me to get MBP since I would need to use the computer for 6-8+ hours for work... (also having an external cooling fan on)... and having the fan help the computer longevity. lol

I waited on chat about 30 mins to get a price match..only to be immediately disconnected. Went online to look at rebuying and saw an open box "excellent" silver for 639$ free shipping. Seems like a great deal?! i'll just return my new one now.
