This product came out this year and already over 60% off. EVGA peripherals are garbage.

On the fence about this one. A hot-swappable full F1800 board that is backlit are next to impossible to find, esp under 100. On the other hand there is a giant EVGA on the top.

Its basically the same wuality as the other big name makers (corsair, logitech, razer, etc). Tbh its probably coming from the same factory as those as well.

But the great thing is its hotswappable. So for basically half the price of the other brands you get soo mich more potential.

I would have no issue recommending this as a first mechanical keyboard since it could last forever and easy as hell to customize and repair.

If your wanting high end you shouldnt be looking at any of the big name stuff. Or you could take a cheaper board and do the work yourself and make it alot better then most the known keyboard brands.

I saw mentions that these keyboard switches actuate before the actual click leading to a lot of false and accidental key presses from the weight of your fingers resting on the keys. Does anyone have experience with this?

I havent experienced it. But they are speed switches which take a but to get used to.

They are great but not for me personally so i switched them with purple pros.

Yes ive had this happen to me a few times so I tried to deliberately recreate the issue and it worked. The keys can actuate with the right amount of pressure before actually clicking. It wasn't really an issue for me typing though. I love this keyboard overall and have written countless documents on it without issue.

I don't know about Razer, but Corsair keyboards are garbage. I bought the K70 and the keys keep falling out while I'm typing. Never buying Corsair again.

I have speed switches (Corsair) and I love them! I studied computer science and have always valued my typing ability and have worked on it extensively and I've never had any issues with misshits. I think if you already have issues with typing it may exacerbate them...

Conversely I have 2 razer huntsman elite keyboards (work and home) that have worked perfectly and never failed and two of the corsair k95s that both developed double keying on single keystrokes within 6 months. I will never buy another corsair keyboard because the rma process is a pain in the ass. I think it's a lot about luck and little about one brand being better than the other. There are a large amount of forum posts about the double keying tho... People tearing them apart and lubing them to try to fix it, etc. My buddy swears by corsair and has never had problems with their peripherals but he only types like 40wpm. I average 90+ without errors. So that may be the difference also. I think any keyboard can hold up with someone that's a chicken pecker...

OH on topic though. I've never tried evga keyboards but hot swappable switches and rgb at this price, that's pretty slick.

I've been tempted to check out EVGA's keys but have a Cooler Master that has been solid AF.
