I have the original one, this does not look as good

And I got mine for $18
But that one isn't ergonomic....

Maybe you should clean your keyboard.
its not cause by dirt.
its cause by the design of the keyboard.
it is well documented online.
reference: https://paulstravelpictures.com/M...cebar-Fix/

basically, you have to press down the space bar at the center, or both at left and right side to get smooth key action.
if you only press down the space bar on only the left or only on the right, the space bar's stem gets stuck as one side is press down and the other side is forced up.

the cost of $400 for the Microsoft 4000 is ridiculous.
i got my personal Microsoft 4000 for $16 on sale.
the office got 200x for $15 each from dell.
most 4000 used by office workers gets total after 1 years.
abs plastic keys get dirty and nasty.
the space bar or the scroll stick fails around the 4 to 6 months mark.
people complains and want another keyboard.
everyone is happy after the office switched back to the cheap keyboard that came with the desktop.

I used the original MS ergo 4000 keyboard for years and years (probably bought it 4 times as they wore out) and was so bummed when they discontinued it. Tried this one and had high hopes but it is far inferior in every single way. Less comfortable, looks more dull… returned it and ended up ascending to a mechanical keyboard and am much happier. I am still using mine. It frustrates all sorts of people because many of the keys are completely rubbed off, lol. I can't believe I've been using a keyboard for 20 years. I bought it when I was in college lol!

Very sad to hear it's been discontinued.

I like this keyboard. It's downfall is the application key on the left side by the start menu key. They shrank the start menu key down so when you want start you generally will press the app key. It's annoying as F

I have the wireless version for about two years... it recently started sticking on a key for a few seconds (electronically, not magnetically), and the Alcantara palm rest is starting to show a lot of staining that's pretty much impossible to clean. Considering this, but $40 seems steep for wired.

Also considering the Kensington K75401US... it's dual Bluetooth and 2.4ghz switchable, which would allow me to use it with both my PC and Chromecast GTV without changing pairing.

EDIT: Picked up the Kensington for $12 USED VERY GOOD from Amazon, so we'll see how that goes.

I have the 4000 I think. Works good. Sorta starting to stick just a bit now, but it's been years. The letters started to rub off prematurely though. They rubbed off far too soon.

I have two of these brand new and remember getting them for $15 each. $40 is to expensive, what a joke.

I've used this for programming around 9 hours per day for a few months and it's working great. Previously I kept buying the wireless version but they would start dropping keystrokes after a while.
How long do the letters on the keys last? My main problem with almost every keyboard I've had are the letters wearing out on the left side of the keyboard due to typing and gaming.

I don't see any wear on my most used keys, but I'm not gaming either

Never had to purchase them, but Amazon does sell replacement keyboard letter stickers. Could be worth it rather than purchasing a new keyboard that you may or not like, when you already have a perfectly good one you do like.

I have this one and like it, but it's too long for my lap. I'd like to find a more compact ergo keyboard, preferably wireless.
