I've seen this for a while, but was surprised to not see it posted here for so long, it's like the legion 5 but with an 11800h and less bulky, or the costco ge76 with a better screen and design, although $100 more than either (saw it since before the ge76 was up though).

Full power 3060, pcie4 drive and tb4, good screen, mechanical keyboard, well cooled, sleek design, is it just the price? lack of reviews?

Yes, but it's less power efficient. Then again this is a 17" so marginal decrease in battery life relative to AMD probably isn't particularly important.

Great laptop for the money!

it's not marginal, it gets much less battery life, just look at jarrodstech battery charts, it's quite shocking. With that being said good deal for the money if need 17", Legion 5 pro is currently 1399 on ebay

AMD cheats battery benchmarks because nobody tests performance when unplugged in reviews:

https://wccftech.com/intel-amd-ry...sentation/

Now im not saying AMD is less efficient than Intel to be clear, but their battery life figures get exaggerated because they throttle performance on battery even if you use high performance mode, while Intel really doesnt unless the user changes power plans.

If intel wins on battery it could be true for the low power skus, but for these gaming 45W+ processors atleast all youtube benchmarks show that AMD wins on both battery life AND battery performance, which would make sense because of the process node.

Those sources seem pretty sus, the first one claims "intel doesnt do this at all" without showing intel numbers, and the second one only shows literal Intel marketing material lol.

Regardless, I personally still prefer Intel for the single core performance, TB4 and PCIe4, and never really cared about battery life.

Just think of the battery as a UPS instead of a mobile power supply.

intel changed quite a bit since 11th gen laptop processor thanks to the improved manufacturing process. the youtube review is porbabily for the 10th gen (and that would be correct)

https://www.ultrabookreview.com/4...omparison/

in short, the 11th gen intel is a better chip by itself, and the fact that it can do TB4 with external GPU makes it a no brainier.

i bought a AMD 4750 laptop (thinkpad T14 AMD) last year, and intel 11800H (thinkpad T15G) laptop this year. the intel one is significantly faster processor wise.

Yah... I will take the 2% hit in FPS on games and the 50% increase on apps that use multiple CPUs.

ummm... yah, I don't think so. And we have not even talked about heat and fan noise to cool i down and battery life and wattage used.

Look, AMD is the winner today. Even with gamers.
