Amazon just announced a new set of 4k TVs, including a "4-series" and an upgraded "Omni series".

I just stumbled upon the fact that the 50" version of these TVs has a 22%-23% temporary introductory price discount, making the Omni series $399 (normally $509.99), and the 4-series $359.99 (normally $469.99).

Note below the price on the main screen, it says the following:

Introductory price of $399.99 (22% off) will be reflected at checkout. After introductory period, price will be $509.99.

I'm not sure at the moment how long this introductory price will last. The deal does not appear to apply to any of the other sizes. The TV is set to ship on 10/27/21.

There isn't anything this does that I can't do on my SHIELD and my Samsung TV, and probably much better quality. They're touting features that literally a $30 stick can provide.

LOL - they're touting that you can say 'Alexa, watch a movie' and the lights dim and the TV starts up. Been doing this with Philips Hue and my SHIELD for years now. So futuristic!

But your Phillips hue setup and shield and current TV probably cost more than this whole TV. this isn't for you obviously... move along.

It cost far less, because I'm on SD and know what I'm doing...move along.

With this you can control all your amazon stuff & a grid onscreen. Also, PIP of cameras in a small box when watching stuff.
I believe the new stick can do that too, btw.

Meh. Would have liked to see similar discounts on the other models (75inch). Otherwise, these prices are not that attractive.

Wait for November, start watching for Walmart TV sales well before Black Friday (easily a couple weeks before). Last year I got a 55" TCL roku tv for around $150
Ah, yes...I had one of those. The picture quality was absolutely atrocious. I went back to using my few-years-prior 50" 'Toshiba' Best Buy Black Friday TV and returned the TCL.

Man what has happened to TV prices... I was hoping to get a cheap 50" TV for a pool table / bar room but prices are insane even for the cheapo brands.
I don't know what you're talking about. About a decade ago, I had a budget of around $600 and the best I could get was a dumb 32 inch 1080p Vizio flat lcd. Now you can get Samsung smart oled 43 inch 4k TVs with all the bells and whistles for less than that. Go dumb for $360 lesser brand 4k 50 inch tvs. TVs prices have been plummeting.

Wait for November, start watching for Walmart TV sales well before Black Friday (easily a couple weeks before). Last year I got a 55" TCL roku tv for around $150 and a 50" Onn for a bit less, can't recall the amount, both from Walmart. The TCL is much better, fyi.
TCL 55" 4K/Walmart BF deal was $148 exactly before tax. It blows this "deal" out of the water. That was during the full-blown mask-everywhere pandemic though. I wonder if the processor shortage and return-to-work era we're in now will mean that a Walmart BF deal won't be seen again...

Normally BF deals that low are for crappy smaller 720p TVs...I'm not even sure why they still exist.
