I've had CDMA verizon redpocket for almost 2 years, I'd say it's about the same as other verizon mnvo's, all of them seem to have occasional weird coverage issues that I don't think you'd get with verizon proper, but the cost savings are worth it. The only problems are:
1. visual voicemail stops working every few months, you have to call redpocket, they fix it in a 15 minute call, say this shouldn't happen again, and then it only works for another few months.
2. NO TETHERING on current phones! I had a moto x4 up until a few months ago and tethering worked fine. I just switched to a pixel 3a and found out that officially tethering IS NOT ALLOWED and it was just a bug with older phones that allowed it to.

Now I'm looking for a new provider when my year is up in a few months, I'll probably have to go with verizon prepaid.

att gsma redpocket does support tethering but you don't get visual voicemail for free. I took two phones on vacation to some national parks, att redpocket and verizon redpocket. the att usually reported the same signal or one bar higher, however in terms of actual data usability it was about the same, I saw somewhere that maybe att's thresholds for the bar levels are a little lower. But when it really mattered I was able to get just enough intermittent signal from verizon to get an email out whereas att was useless.

Also, att tethering apparently blocks all ports other than standard web traffic, so I had problems with some of my work apps that were fine with verizon.
Only for the few lucky ones who're eligible for this bucks promotion.
For those on or wanting the 20GB plan - which is regularly $336/year via their eBay store - was priced at $300 in late October 2020. I bought that on October 14th to be specific - more than a month before Black Friday.

Also, Red Pocket eBay plans can be applied up to 90 days after purchase... or at least that was the arrangement last year. My October 14 purchase was held and was applied on December 9th.... which from my perspective means I'm already within 90 days of my own renewal so my eyes are open for the next deal on the 20GB plan.

Last - tethering. I can't help anybody tied to or preferring the Verizon network. All I know is it's worked consistently on AT&T for years on every one of my phones.

Does this stack: say you're in month 5 of 12 and get another 12/360 of these

Last time I tried stacking they just deleted the old and started the new plan. It didn't warn me it would do that and I only had a month left but I did call customer service and they should've extended my expiration date for that extra month I missed. It also mentions must activate within 90 days though

I'm a two year Red Pocket user who's been holding off for this deal, but I'm also consider Mint Mobile for $240.year. It's only $2 more a month for 10G of data and they say they have tethering. I live in a major metro so both services are available.

Can anyone comment on their Mint Mobile vs. Red Pocket experience? The only problem I've *ever* had on Red Pocket is sometimes not getting texts/photos sent through the AT&T or Sprint network (mostly Sprint, and this is an uncommon problem).

FWIW, this deal gets better around Black Friday. I've purchased my plan on three consecutive Black Fridays (or there abouts). Last year I got this same plan for $206. You have 90 days to activate the plan once purchased.

I'm on Mint now and have been for the past 6 months. Use tethering all the time without issue. I am in NYC and the suburbs - the service is good. Sometimes certain areas there are dead spots but I was coming off of T-Mobile and so it is not much different. Was looking at this red pocket offer but as you said it isn't that much savings compared to mints 10gb plan.

Bingo! I just spoke with RP Tech Support who confirmed 90 days.

Important to note - on day 91, the redemption will expire with no chance of a refund.
It's 90 days, and it's documented in all of their eBay listings under the Terms & Conditions tab at the bottom, which no one ever reads.

Online Product Purchases. All Devices and SIM Kits purchased online ("Online Product Purchases") are not intended for resale. Online Product Purchases are ineligible for refunds after thirty (30) calendar days from the order date. Online Product Purchases bundled with a service plan must be activated within ninety (90) calendar days of the order date. Any Online Product Purchases that are not activated by customer within ninety (90) calendar days of the order date may be rendered inactive and the bundled service plan expired.

My current plan isn't done until early December. Can I buy renewal one and add it one and it'll extend 1 year from then? Or is it just a year from now?
Quote from WenW5757 :
Even if it's the same exact plan? I read somewhere on Reddit that they changed it to extending the current one, but not 100% sure.
If it's the same plan, it SHOULD stack. But it sometimes glitches per many anecdotal reports. I just set a reminder to myself and use the 90 day activation limit.

Tethering works on my LG V35 on Verizon CDMA plan. Has all year of service since last November. Will it work when I renew? I dont see why not. But cant confirm until I do renew.

Same here. They even call back after the problem was solved to verify the fix.

Had my wife on this CDMAV annual plan for 2 years, no complaints. She's a light data user but never heard her complain about speeds. She has even used hotspot a time or two for work,

Just an FYI if you browse through Reddit, RedPockets support is absolutely terrible. I've had them a total of 5 years with a total of 4 phones. I can confirm it's like pulling teeth to get the Phillipians to do anything more than read from a script. Not only that but they will suspend you for "overuse" on their network. My cousin whom I recommended to RP 2 years ago has been turned off with them numerous times and is on the "Unlimited" plan. The crime I guess is over 5,000 minutes a month. So much for unlimited, I guess? Finally, service is not pro-rated, after he went to cancel 6 months into his second year, they wouldn't give him anything back even though they are breaking their own rules. Go somewhere else.
If you paid for a year why would they refund you at month 6? That's not how any annual plan works!

I'd be all over this if it were 15GB or 20GB for a little more.
8GB is just not enough; too much month and not enough data for my purposes.
It doesn't take much to pull down 1GB.
The best app to run continuous (minimal data use) is Spotify.
The worst apps to run are iHeart, podcasts, youtube, and GPS.

If you renew the plan and have to change the provider(from Verizon to T-mobile) - when is a good time? Is it like closer to 30 days since the date of renewal?

There's a section under the Terms & Conditions tab: Unlimited doesn't mean unreasonable use.
I'm guessing most/all MVNOs have similar language. Mint users on Reddit have same complaint. I've read the only chance of true unlimited is with the 3 majors.

No refunds after 30 days, also under T&C. That's pretty much the definition of prepaid.

You can expect to receive your renewal code via email within 24-48 business hours. However, should this not be the case, please send us a DM and we'll surely take a closer look.
Why did I get a tracking number then? If this is the case I need to change the shipping address.

Any feedback from CDMA VERIZON users??

I've used GSMA (AT&T) on Android and my wife had CDMA-V on iphone XR. She had a lot of issues that we could never hammer out. It seemed like Verizon treats mvno customers much worse than AT&T or T-Mobile. I've had zero complaints for my GSMA service. Also, Mint is pretty awesome. I alternate between the two (red pocket and mint) to maximize promos. I would not use a Verizon mvno again unless I moved to an area that only had Verizon. And even then, I'd probably just bite the bullet and get Verizon proper, not worth the hassle getting much poorer service as an mvno customer of theirs. That's my $.02
