Yeah, it's $20 at Direct Tools, but after $10 shipping the Home Depot price is better (unless you're buying more stuff and can spread that shipping cost out).
From reading the 1 star reviews I would not buy this, common complaint is that it doesn't suck very well, previously I remember reading it is only good for sawdust. Like in a woodworking shop.

I have one, have had for a while. With the little reducer nozzle it comes with (does it still?) It is strong enough to suck flies out of the air. (Did it one day frustrated when a crapload appeared out of no where), so I would take the suction whines with a few flies-worth of salt.

I have one it had two types of filters in it. Take the cartridge filter out while the other stays intact. Works like a charm and comes in handy with every day projects.
Once the filter gets a little dirty, it lost alot of the suction.
Its good for a 20 sec vacuum!
It definitely does not become useless. It takes a lot of crap for that filter to kill suction, and once you clean it it is back new again. I know what you're saying, but if you just clean the filters it works great. Plus the filters are very easy to clean. I've had one for about 3 years now and it still works as new with a clean filter.

I've been waiting for a sale on the newer P714 for, like, ever… but I just don't see it happening anytime soon. 😂
