HBO Max offer - https://www.roku.com/offers/hbomax

*Purchase a new Roku streaming device and activate it by connecting to the internet and linking to your new or existing Roku account between 10/1/21 and 1/14/22 to see if you qualify to receive 30 days of HBO Max included with your purchase. Promotional offer is for new HBO Max subscribers only. The new Roku device must be activated by January 14, 2022 and you must subscribe to HBO Max by January 21, 2022 in order to qualify for this 30-day HBO Max promotional offer (the "Roku Offer"). Qualifying customers can visit: www.roku.com/offers/hbomax [roku.com] for instructions on how to redeem the Roku Offer. Offer available to U.S. residents only. Offer is non-transferable and may only be used once. Offer cannot be combined with any other promotional or free trial offer for HBO Max. Must be 18+ and a U.S. resident. To cancel your subscription and avoid being charged, you must cancel before the end of the 30-day promotional period. After the 30-day promotional period, Roku will charge your payment method the then current subscription price for your HBO Max monthly plan (currently $14.99 per month plus applicable taxes for the HBO Max Ad-Free plan and $9.99 per month plus applicable taxes for the HBO Max With Ads plan) on a recurring basis until you cancel your HBO Max subscription. Use of HBO Max is subject to its own terms and conditions and privacy policy, see hbomax.com/terms-of-use and https://www.hbomax.com/privacy for details. Refurbished Roku players are not eligible for this promotion.

I never get any of the Roku offers 😥
I would agree with you if Roku makes money off these players, but they really don't. They make money off you using it i.e. ads and digital in-Roku purchases, so they are better off supporting it as long as possible.

Most of these are more of a loss leader to get you into or keep you in their ecosystem.
Even a slicker deal for those that are seeing it for $9.99...use coupon code WELCOME10 and it's only $4.99 with free shipping.

Which Roku has best WiFi range?

Hooked a TV up in my garage and my old Roku stick gets a signal, but it's weak. The stick has always been slow to load pages and apps, so an upgrade was due anyway.
You should go with any of the models that support "a/b/g/n/ac dual-band MIMO" that also meet your other requirements for the device

Anyone having issues with NOT being able to checkout using Paypal or even the regular Credit Card pay method?

At checkout it's defaulting to "Roku Pay". I switch that to CC, enter my info in, hit submit, and it loops me BACK to the shopping cart screen again. Same with Paypal.

Yes! I seem to be stuck in the loop. Trying to take advantage of 5% back on PayPal purchases with my CC...

I did notice that I was charged taxed based on the $9.99 price even thought the WELCOME10 code brought it down to $4.99. Im waiting for this order to get cancelled.

EDIT: I did note that when I applied the coupon it gave an error that a better discount was already applied but when I clicked past it the discount still applied.

There will always be a market for these but i feel its shrinking. I do believe you still run into some issues with native apps not running in 4K vs a fire stick / roku maybe having that 4k app but I think that wont be for very long.
We have been saying that for years, and yet still here we are. Roku also h as these integrated straight into TVs. I use Roku's mostly because they are very simple and convenient to use, despite the drawback of no sideloading of apps.

I really like that the interface is really fast to use, and I don't have to wade through a shit ton of crap from Google or Amazon. Their search feature also list content from multiple stores so you can do price comparison (although I never bought anything, mostly use it to find a free source).

These sticks are also supported for a lot longer and we can already see that, by this offer here. It is to get you to upgrade on the cheap to the newest device.

I'm afraid they are here to stay for a long time, and that other people's "smart" TV isn't so smart after a few years, because they don't update them unlike Roku.

I ditched roku for nvidia shield for this reason. They seem to "lose access" to apps that I need.
Yeah, I switched to the shield too. Definitely worth the money!

But I still have a lowly 1080p in my office that I have the roku attached too and it works perfectly fine. Or it did until this announcement.

$19.99 for me. Too bad. My current one is so slllloooooowww. Especially with Apple TV. Netflix is fine though. You'd think Apple would have better coders and also understand how to give the user a good experience. I often will choose Netflix over Apple just because I don't want to deal with their crappy, slow and confusingly laid out app.

It's a bug in Roku's site. Once you set up for PayPal, it'll be charged to your PayPal account even though it still says Roku payment on the final checkout page.

I submitted my order anyway and my PayPal account got charged.

Did that to me just leave it as roku pay after you switch it to paypal and it reloads the check out screen. I did that and it charged my Paypal even though it still said Rokupay on checkout page

I didn't log in first, and offer showed up. As soon as I logged in with my Roku account, offer is gone.

thanks op, one of the offers was a replacement power/wifi cable that hasn't been in stock for months, which combined with the cheap roku and welcome10 offer so I got a nice bundle and a spare roku I can give to my mom when she eventually breaks/loses hers again Smilie
