First time posting a deal to bear with me. I've been waiting for this to go on sale. Normally 169.99. This is $50 off. Wanted continuous recording. I'll be hard wiring.
Description
eufy Security Wired 2K Video Doorbell. 2K Resolution, 5-Day Continuous Video Recording (CVR) on Secure Local Storage, No Monthly Fees, Human Detection, 2-way Audio, and Free Wireless Chime included.
Features
See Them Arrive in Full HD
The sharp 2K image, combined with our advanced HDR and Distortion Correction, ensures every video is recorded in 2x the quality*. NOTE: The doorbell requires existing doorbell wires at 16-24 VAC, 30 VA, or above.
The Alerts Which Matter
With AI technology and our sophisticated algorithm, the camera intelligently detects body shape and face pattern. Ensuring you are only alerted when a human, and not a stray cat, is at the door.
Keeps Track of the Last 5 Days
Records and stores every second of the last 5 days onboard the device, allowing you to check any and all events, no matter how big or small.
Ready to Use Storage
32GB of built-in storage allows each recording to be saved directly to the device meaning there is no need to use or purchase an external SD card. Free Upgraded Electronic Chime Included - The new and improved chime supports 8 themed ringtones and an adjustable volume level.
Record 24/7, 365
With Continuous Video Recording (CVR), Floodlight Camera 2 Pro records continuously, so you can scan through your entire video history: See everything before, during, and after an event

I've had the non-CVR 2K model for over 2 years now. It's been really reliable. The human detection has false positives (ie tree branches and car tires), but I've tuned the detection zones and sensitivity to the point that false positives are fairly minimal now. Was looking to upgrade to the CVR model. Sad to hear that if you enable CVR, your video quality goes down to 1080p Does this include motion triggered video recordings as well, or do those remain 2K? I can deal with that if only the CVR buffer is 1080p.

I respectfully disagree with this statement. I have Ring Pro (1080p) and switched to 2K doorbell from Eufy, the motion alerts are useless and resolution is not better than Ring, if you only need a cheap Camera Bell that has unreliable motion alert then this works.
I am back to Ring as it's motion alerts are far superior.
BTW I use Ring motion alert to trigger my Hue and Lutron outside lights during night, so it is critical for me.
I have the original and its a decent doorbell, the AI detection is ok at best and does mis-identify occasionally(tree branches and shadows), or more often you get a video of the person walking away.
Eufy is so close to being to check all of the boxes on, why there is still no ability to connect to wired version to the homebase but the battery one can is beyond me. If they could RTSP and HomeBase support for the wired doorbell with the CVR (like in the 2c) is would be a near perfect doorbell

Can anyone chime in on the differences? Is the 2C just a newer model?
The second model doesn't do continuous recording
The only thing that was a slight pin was mounting it because the wires got in the way. It also didn't work with existing chime which was disappointing.
