So I have both since launch day for both respective products and I actually agree. You won't see any change in the functionality and the new remote isn't a huge leap forward. You can actually buy the remote itself for $50 MSRP if you REALLY wanted it. That being said this is the best price I've seen for the latest gen. You can't go wrong with either box but I feel at $80 the previous gen at Walmart is the best value.

sadly when I just tried it in hulu it didn't work. It just brought ip the controls to fast forward.

Yeah, I wish you could enforce a global setting. The times are fine for most of the services we use, but I think Disney+ sets it to like 10 seconds...something much shorter than I'd like.

use a harmony remote with it, best thing ever. I have all my Apple TV's set up to harmony remotes that controls everything. have never used an apple remote
