Yep, touchscreen along with a stylus is a must. Unforunately, chromebook doesn't seem to run too friendly with a lot of apps that I will be using.

Awesome, now debating if I should wait till black friday or pull the trigger. Most likely buy now and think later. laugh out loud
Is the touch because you want to use a stylus?

External Wacom-type things work very well.

If not, I suggest looking for a "dell inspiron chromebook 14 7486" - Why?? It has WACOM EMR Battery-less Stylus built-in. On ebay, people are giving them away imo. It has one of the best screens 100%+ sRGB, and VERY color accurate I've seen on any reasonably priced device. I have 5 of these to do what I need to do in the remote world. They are all 8th gen i3 processors. I bought them all on ebay for about $200 each for an all-aluminum build.

Got the same perks through work discount. For those who don't have this, add the item to your cart and see if this works:
https://www.lenovo.com/us/vipmemb...placeoffer [lenovo.com]
Notice the "?groupId=beneplaceoffer" at the end. Use code Beneplacegold

I do recommend swapping out the WiFi card for something better (Intel WiFi6)
I ordered the 15 through this link last Oct 24 but I haven't received mine. I've been receiving the notifications that shipment is delayed, but I don't see any notice for "4 months" on the order status. It's been "Waiting to be shipped" and "Ships free in 7-9 business days" ever since. How can I confirm what the real situation is? There doesn't seem to be chat support when I follow through to the link if I have questions about my order.

DAMN. Looks like in time for the price but now says ships in 1-2 months. I can't wait that long. Hoping there's a black friday deal on something similar!

Look for blue button 'View Order Status' that appears in the confirmation 'Thank you for your order' email you received after you placed your Lenovo order.

You can click the chat function on their site at the bottom. However I would tell you it was a waste of time for me. After putting in all my info to get a Rep they then asked for all of it again and then checked my status which was exactly what I could see. The apologized and said it was there most popular model and being build overseas. They then offered to transfer me to a sales associate that could offer comparable options that ship sooner. I accepted that offer and that took a while then I had to provide all info again. They then took some time and provided me with a couple comparable options. The frustrating issue was comparable means to the end price you paid not to the computer specs you ordered. So they were showing me laptops that had a retail price around 750 with vastly lower specs. I brought up that the policy is not good as it does not even factor in current discount codes that are still available. They apologized and said that was all they could do. They suggested I cancel if I couldn't wait or as I mentioned keep the order, hope it ships earlier, and if a better deal comes around get it and cancel this order. I received an email a week later apologizing for the wait time but assuring they will update the status. My status for shipping has never changed even though I have seen it lower to 1+ to 2+ months on the project page. I am not impressed with their customer service or system to update orders. However, the deal is great so it is a difficult decision.

Anyway having lock up issues can try these:

1. Open device manager
2. Opent the Usb controller section
3. On each device, double click, go to power management, uncheck allow turn off device to save power
4. Profit

This helps me with touchpad lock up significantly on my 14 g3, however i am still looking for the solution for my phantom touches on the screen.

Might got a lemon so that's a big oof.

I got the 14 inch version. Here's some info for those who are interested:

Aluminum casing feels nice. I like the keyboard as well, except for 1) the backlight isn't auto-on or off; 2) the ring around the power button is always lit during operation.

Biggest disappointments for me are the screen with the washed out colors, which I also have to use at max brightness in a well lit room, and the battery life which only provides ~5 hours (Windows' estimate) of normal use. Also noticed the CPU easily reach 80°C on the first day of use, and the M.2 SSD reach 63°. Don't know what to make of that.

Have yet to test the speakers and all the different ports so can't comment on those yet. Ultimately I'm still looking around for other options. I think that if the Yoga 6 shows up in the same config I'll buy that and return this, despite the fact that the Yoga is smaller, glossy, and not aluminum. At least it's got 100% sRGB and good battery life. At this price range you've got to make compromises, I suppose.
What about this deal? https://slickdeals.net/f/15380674-thinkbook-14p-g2-14-2-2k-ips-ryzen-7-5800h-16gb-ddr4-512gb-pcie-ssd-win10-pro-851-95-f-s#commentsBox It looks like the screen is better, but Im not tech savvy so maybe others can comment.

Thank you, feel better about the purchase now. I wanted to ask if you or anyone know if this laptop would able to use with stylus like wacom bamboo pen. I believe the last ideapad 3 i bought only has touchscreen but doesn't work with the stylus. A bit traumatized. LMAO

Edit: when I go into adding the accessories section, the stylus tab is blank. Would appreciate if anyone can give some pointers.
Sorry bud no idea on compatibility with Wacom (never used one but almost but 100 of them for resale once lol). The touchscreen hardware can make it or break it, so research which type of stylus you have and what types of touchscreens it is compatible with. Then find out what type of touch screen you have.

Hey , do you guys think this costco deal is worth the trade off for the thinkbook 14 I got from this offer?
The differences are:
The costco has a lesser Ryzen 5, where this has a Ryzen 7.
The costco has a higher res screen 2240 vs 1920.
The costco I believe gets better battery life.
The costco I believe the RAM is all soldered, where this one only 1 slot is soldered.
The costco is an ideapad and thought to have better build quality then this thinkbook (which I think quality is really good)
For me I am considering costco for better screen resolution and better battery.
I really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

I'm in the same place... except I just bought the LG Gram. I love the weight and overall speed, I really don't like the number pad on it, bothering me more than I thought it would. Considering returning and getting the Lenovo instead... wondering which one is better...

I got an email.
My two 15.6" I purchased Oct 29(and were saying 4+ months) are now saying they've shipped and delivery date of Nov 22. Just over 3 total weeks.
I purchased 21a4007bus model.

Did the laptops arrive? I ordered 15" last Friday 11/19 and still showing 2+ months delivery.

Of particular interest to me is the display. I went to Best Buy hoping to find a unit with similar display but not sure that any had the same as this unit. Hope not because what I did see was rather disappointing, not that bright and viewing angles were underwhelming to say the least.

What is your opinion? Have others rec'd and what do they think of the display? Everything else about this laptop seems well spec'd but would be a letdown if the display is really substandard.

Has anyone found any good deals on a single stick of 32gb ram for this or the other similar Lenovo laptops? I have seen good sales on 2x16gb and on 2x32gb from Newegg but not a single card. Also would be interested in what 2.5 HDD folks may install. You can PM if you like. Thanks so much!
