The thing about this 60 inch version of the tv is that it has a VA panel. I bought it 2 weeks back and will be calling for a price match. The review on the rtings site is for the IPS versions of this TV. I replaced an IPS hisense model that broke with this one and am blown away by how bright it seems in comparison. Colors extremely vivid. They may be more vivid than on my Vizio quantum model which I believe is also IPS. I am sold on VA panels now. Incredible deal for 380 Imo.
Trust me, every inch counts.
I wouldn't blame the tv manufacturer of poor quality control, your kids broke the tv.

I bought a Hisense TV on Black Friday day years ago. I didn't have much faith in it and expecting it to break down within a year. Man, I was so wrongggg. This thing last more than 5 years and still going
Agreed, My gf bought a 55" Hisense 4K and I got a Samsung 50" 4K tv Black Friday about 4 years ago.

The Samsung Tv was $100 more expensive despite being smaller in size. Fast forward 4 years later, Hisense tv still going strong and my Samsung Tv has developed tons of purple spots and screen failure at the 3 year mark and progressively getting worse (seems to be a really common problem, potential to develop into a class action lawsuit). Just recently it's developed a new issue where the audio level will get "stuck" needing a soft reset to remediate.

With that said, the Samsung was a bit "snappier" with the smart tv functionality and the picture quality (before the purple dot issues) did seem a little bit better vs the Hisense.

With that said, ultimately I think what I learned is that I shouldn't just write off the cheaper brands, I'm considering the Hisense U8G 65" as an upgrade this time around for the sale price of $980. I think they've come a long way the past 4 years and buying their high end model may alleviate some of the (only) complaints I've had on my older Hisense around picture quality not being as good and it being not a snappy / processing power.

However, this set for a 60" at under $400 is seriously good value. Going to be hard to justify a 65" tv from the same brand that's over double the price with my (now) wife. She never forgets to hit me with the "I told you so" for when I knocked her Hisense purchase when my Samsung tv started developing all these problems.

Anyone have any recommended calibration settings for this tv? I see the ones on rtings but they reviewed the 65" with the different panel.

Picking this up later today, replacing 49" 1080 Vizio.

Got it set up, great picture!

One bad thing is the android doesn't support Directv apps...so if you have Directv Stream you need another streaming device. Fortunately I have an Apple tv so it wasn't an issue but fyi

LOL... So rather than buying one of the crazy TV mounts for the Wall, you got some Tape and tried to tape it to a shelf to stick on your wall?
You have to read the post for context. He tapped the edge against something and it shattered, not taped.

I actually had something similar happen to a 43" Hisense I had, barely knocked the side of it while moving it and had a massive crack run all the way through it.

That said, I have another Hisense for a bedroom TV and it has been flawless and is absolutely great for the price. Bought tossed it on my Citi Premier card for another 2 years of free warranty so I feel good about it.

Well I'll be, I just purchased this same TV on the 22nd for $399.99 and now the price dropped again! That's 20 bucks I could have saved! Yea, twenty dollars is a lot two me with these high prices since the Pandemic!! I'm wondering if they'll make the adjustment? Overall, the television is darn pretty good for the price I paid.

You can price match

How this compares with 55" Amazon Fire TV 4 Series. Keep hearing about laggy experience with android os in Hisense Tvs. Can I better off with Fire TV?
