If you don't mind the cord, I'd go with this one. Routers use a lot of power and is not something you'd want to run on batteries (imo). Plus I'd be very surprised if a 20v router could match a really nice corded one like this in power. Most cordless routers I see are lower power trim ones.

Excellent deal! Best price I've seen for brand new.

I've been waiting on a deal for this one so I can pull my Dewalt out of my router table - I understand they have issues being upside down with dust destroying the motor. These Bosch routers don't have that issue.

Was able to stack Amazon Photos $15 credit and a $5 courtesy credit as well Smilie not to mention Discover 5%

Yeah, Dewalt should have far better routers than they do. They Bought ELU so long ago, and it gave them the ability to have great routers, but they've done very little to change them since decades ago. I mean, their depth adjustment system has been used on routers since like the 60's.

The Bosch is exponentially better in every way. The 1617 has had a big here and there, but Bosch fixed them (looking at you On/Off switch!!! Lol). There's a reason the Bosch is still so well recieved around the world.

And, who knows what Bosch might come out with in the future??? 😉 😉

To sweeten this even more, it says 10% back for me on the Amazon credit card. I already have one of these but I'm tempted to get another so I don't have to pull it in and out of the router table.

Edit: The 1617 EVS (without the plunge base) is $149.99 with the same $20 coupon but no 10% back. https://smile.amazon.com/Bosch-Va...315&sr=8-2

This or Milwaukee M18 fuel version? I know this is corded version but I don't mind it. I want to know which is better performance wise.

I prefer battery on trim routers and cord on full. Since full probably stays in the shop or in a router table so it doesn't matter to me. Thus the full is hooked up to dust extraction and on tethered to something anyways.

I just bought the 20v Dewalt router with the HD hack.....

So there's reason to have both?

YES! I keep the Bosch in my router table, I can pull it out and put it in the plunge base but I rather have the smaller Dewalt for doing work outside of the table. I did the hack too but HD still hasn't filled my router order so I am going to have to return the batteries at this point... or see how resell is on them when they come.

I did the same and yes there is. Doing edge work, like doing a round over or trimming edge banding, is much easier with a cordless trim router.

This is a great deal. For those on the fence between this and DeWalt, this is better for router tables. You can adjust the height from the top of the table. DeWalt has better dust collection when not mounted to a table. Granted it's not great.
