FYI there appears to be a limit associated to Address. I couldnt not figure it out for the longest time until I changed address on my second order. Observations:

- max order of (3) for non-business account on first tranaction to Address1
- able to get to checkout (1) additional drive to Address1 for second transaction
- anything with qty 2-3 to Address1 for second transaction returns an error and cannot continue
- order for (3) drives to Address2 on second transaction has no issues

Most likely you got a defective unit, or it didn't handshake correctly with your USB controller.
Honestly, do you think that if ALL of them took 2 minutes to start loading a file, the forum wouldn't be ablaze with hundreds of negative posts?

These drives perform as expected for USB external hard drives, sure the first access after it's put into sleep mode takes a few seconds for it to spin up the drive, but other than that it's performs as expected. I get transfers >140 MB/s regularly from my internal hard drive, but every once in a while when I plug it in to my USB, I just get 30MB/s tops, and on another USB 3.0 port it never gets above 30MB/s.

caved in and bought 2.. I dont think we will get better than this .. at least not soon. finally will fill up my 4 bay nas.. I should be set for awhile. I really wanted 2x 8TB.. but I'll settle with paying more for 14TB.

Tried to bring 2 old 2.5" hdds for the coupon, the person behind the CS desk only allowed me one. I gave my number and it showed up with my wife's info and she said one per person. I then asked if my wife could come in and she said yes. Kinda lame, but my location only had 1 left in stock anyway. Wanted a second one for my dad, but I guess I can just go with him to grab one.
