Why isnt this a bigger deal considering the U8G is the same price for same size? Am I unaware of something? Honest question as I'm deciding between this and the U8G

The 55" R646 went on sale for $700 a few weeks at best buy. It was even $675 on one day. So many who wanted this size may have already jumped on it.

The 55" U8G went to $700 for the first time on Black Friday. This is a new low, the previous low was $750.

I jumped on the U8G at 700 but made me wonder if the TCL 646 was better at the same price point. Seems like a lot of smaller youtube reviewers like the 646 where rtings likes the U8G. I have heard nothing but good things for the 646 which is giving me regrets.

I loved my U8G until my backlight went out in the first month. Got my refund from Hisense after two tech visits couldn't fix it.

Thats crazy and not the first time ive heard of issues with it. Really sucks because it sounds like otherwise its a great tv. I guess thats why I was steered toward the R646 (which again, I understand isnt perfect in the quality control department).

It might have been lack of inventory at the warehouse. I asked if I could just grab one at the same Best Buy that I got mine from and was told no.
