Do you PC game on it by any chance?
I have a 55R646 and I loved the TV until I started 4k 120hz gaming on it. The whole screen would flash and cause a new hdmi handshake constantly which made gaming an awful experience.

They also have the 75 inch 5 series for $900. That price made me pull the trigger.

I have this TV and do not have this issue. Perhaps try a different HDMI cable.

Any recommendations on what to choose between:
65" TCL 646 at 999 (BestBuy)
65" Vizio PQ9 for 979 (Costco)
65" Sony X90CJ for 1199 (Costco - also has 5yr warranty)

I need to use it in a well lit room that has sun glare in the evenings. Plan to use it for gaming on my Xbox and watching Sports

Tcl 646 gets brighter than the u8g. Better contrast and shadow detail according to rtings. Getting mine delivered Tuesday, replacing a Hisense H8g.

I'd go with Sony for the warranty and maybe better processing and reliability. If Costco had the TCL or HiSense I'd go with those.

Does anyone know when this will be expired? I am waiting for Chase's new bonus categories to come out in a couple of days.

r646 definatly does not get brighter than the u8g, it has better contrast yes but brightness no. r646 is 1200 Nits and the U8g is 1600 Nits overall they are roughly the same though since the U8g has better dimming, the U8g is the better all around TV but the TCL is the better TV to get by most standards because it doesnt have as wide spread ghosting issues as the U8g does and TCL seems to have slightly better QA and QC than Hisense does
