Got this a few months ago when it was $10 cheaper. Swapped from the Roku 635 to this Google TV version. Overall the Roku version is definitely smoother and simpler but I appreciate the added features of Google TV. I love the home screen and how it puts all of your subscriptions in one place and will also display different videos you are in the middle of to quick resume.

There were a few hard bugs that have since been fixed as far as I can tell but some things (like ARC audio) are a bit laggy but perfectly functional.

4K/120 capabilities were just the deciding factor for me. If that isn't important to you, I'd put them on pretty level playing fields as far as quality but would give the edge up to Roku if you don't want to mess with settings or care about extra features and to Google TV if you appreciate the extra features and more connectivity.

Smart TVs tend to have less since the need for an external streaming stick is made less likely. This should have Amazon, YouTube, Hulu, AppleTV, etc etc available out of the box.

That leaves four ports for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and the eARC port for a sound bar(which might have your cable/sat connected to it directly).

Assuming you have *all* of those at once, you're getting into edge-case scenarios of people who also want to connect PCs, etc

4 HDMI ports, 2 of which is 2.1, that's pretty good for a budget brand TV. Even Sonys will only give you 2 2.1 ports.

I have had a good experience with this TV. Having Google TV integrated instead of on a streaming stick makes so much sense. Integrated TV settings, antenna TV guide, OK Google, etc. make everything easy. Picture is great and I worry less about backlight failure when it's rated for much higher brightness than it's usually at.

You can price match u8g from Newegg. It brings the price down to $717 + $100 Food GC. If the price is same, which one will you pick? Also I'm upgrading from U6g, not sure if it's worth it when I don't play video game.

Yes, I tried yesterday and they said they can price match that price. However I'm waiting a little bit more if I can find a good deal for a Sony x90j or oled
