Bought this on last weeks sale.
Make sure to use the Recycling promotion to give you a 15% discount towards Western Digital or san disk ssds.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/recy...8281022996

I had ordered a WDSN850 online, none of the stores near me were in stock. Once it got here, went to store and recycled an 8gb usb flash drive, got the paper discount and the customer service rep returned and rerang it up with the discount right then and there.

Final price was $127.99 before taxes for the 1TB SN850.

That coupon is the epiphany of best buys customer service. Why is it that it takes 45 minutes to recycle a device and make a coupon work. Their system didn't show it, they give excuses why they don't want to honor it, then when you say why did I just give you an SSD then they call a manager over who says they have no control over any decision making in store at all. After 45 minutes of waiting and three associates and a manager late you save $20 wow

I would, the sn750 is gen 3, it's a lot slower than the 850 gen 4 in read and write, you can search sn750 vs sn850, theres comparison between the two
I just did and I feel stupid for not waiting another a few days. I will try and swap it out tomorrow.

That's unnecessary. My store didn't have it and they took the 15% off right there and had it shipped to my house.
Does anyone know if this is their general policy across all stores? The only Best Buy with this in stock is 15 miles away

Because I had the 15% off recycle coupon I went with the 159.99 sn850 version over this 149.99 version. Anyone know what the big difference between these 2 different sn850's are besides the $10 difference?
Best Buy is known to get specific model numbers in SSDs that they only sell (so as not to have to price match).

The store told me they can't find the recycle storage device option on their system.
Any guide I can tell to them?
It is under the trade-in options.

Well I tried using the 15% off coupon and my Bestbuy had no idea what I was talking about. They couldn't find it in their system so they wouldn't give me 15% off

If your MB is gen 3, just get a gen3. Not worth the extra money for gen4. I think it would be 3000 r/w on gen 3 though.

Is there a point to using more than one 2tb ssd m.2 drive? Other than video or graphics storage.
If you're a gamer, to store video games. Pretty easy to fill up a 2tb with games being between 50-150gb now but then again download speeds are so fast for most I guess it's not a huge deal deleting and redownloading.

If you're opting for gen4 over gen3 because of speed, it really depends on your usage scenario. If you're using the drive in a constant read/write environment, you'll see the difference. If you're using it for general purpose computing or video games, the speed differential is minor at best due to optimizations or lack thereof for gen4. If you're future proofing, well, gen5 pci-e spec is out and being tested and you'll need a whole new PC to take advantage of that

I built this PC just on a whim honestly. I got a deal on that 10th gen i7 and went from there. If I'm not mistaken 10th gen can't even utilize PCIe 4? So I don't even think it matters at this point unless I'm wrong.

No, 10th gen intel doesn't support pcie gen4.

Also faster speed = more heat for these nVMe drives so there's that to consider too depending on your motherboard/gpu layout and airflow, but the 10th gen intel solved your dilemma for you. Cheers

Could still get the pci-4 drive for a later upgraded system but by that time, something faster will be out. Future proofing is almost a pointless endeavor for gaming/general PC usage. The excess amount you spend up front for a "future proof system" would've been better saved/invested and then used for a new mainstream system 2-3 years down the road that will outclass the "future proof" PC. The most significant upgrade to any PC is still the GPU.

Thanks a bunch and yeah current GPU setup is right up against my m.2 slot so more heat no bueno.
