Update: Target will be selling these at $29.99 starting on 11/21/21 (thanks minifigg and jsNYCjs)--for those of you who already purchased at $39.99, target will price match themselves retroactively for this Black Friday pricing
.........................
My Sonicare diamondclean broke after just two years (apparently this is not a rare experience) and I was needing something to replace it asap . . . I didn't want to throw out $150+ on another toothbrush and this currently on-sale Sonicare 4100 offers a no frills but nonetheless high-quality "full force" cleaning (unlike the AAA battery powered "Phillips One by Sonicare" toothbrush) at a fraction of the diamondclean price. It fits all the sonicare toothbrush heads including the diamond clean heads, has a real world battery life of approximately 2 weeks, and has great reviews.

Tip: out-of-the-box this unit comes with "EasyStart" enabled which runs the toothbrush at a lower power for the first 14 cleanings to allow your mouth time to adjust to the intensity of an electric toothbrush . . . once this feature is diasabled, this toothbrush will provide a vigorous cleaning.

This model has been on sale at this price at most retailers for a while. I bought one at Meijer in store this week because they got their sale shipment in that had an additional $5 off coupon on the box. Might be worth checking your local grocery target Walmart etc to see if they have the same.

This is my favorite model sonicare. The other modes offered on higher models are useless and annoying when you accidentally switch to them. Nobody needs Bluetooth on a toothbrush. This thing is simple, durable and cleans just as good.

Thanks. My diamondclean broke as well. The metal part broke inside or something. I'm switching to oral-b tough after that experience.

Our family has a few sonicare toothbrushes--they've been rock solid with the exception of the more expensive diamondclean . . . the latter is so much $$$--not going to do that again for a bunch of features which are not needed for most users IMO . . .

I think cheapest this has been was $30 on amazon around BF last year.

Does anyone know what "speed" the 4100 runs at? (Compared to the 3 speed/modes of the 5100 and 6100).

Is like the medium speed or max speed?

It looks like they're the same as best I can tell. . . the 4100 runs on "max" mode only whereas the 5100/6100 have a mode selector that offers lower speeds

"All have a motor built-in that can deliver up to 62,000 movements (31,000 brush strokes) per minute that is powered from a Lithium-Ion battery built into the handle."

I agree; switched to the 4100 when my more expensive one broke and even happier as I now no longer accidentally put it into a mode I didn't want to use.

FWIW, Target will have a these for 29.99 as part of their Black Friday Sale while supplies last.

thanks for this info/will update the OP . . . will get them to pricematch the unit I already bought from Target at $39.99 now . . . don't have to worry about out-of-stock that way

So if I buy it today, what exactly do I do? Just ask them to refund me the difference?

Oral-B lasts. They are still made in Germany and I've been using my Pro 6000 for 4 years. I wanted to try the Sonicare since some say they are more gentle to the gums but the reliability is awful.
