Good deal - same price as T5 so free speed upgrade. HOWEVER, other than slight dimension diff, T7 tend to overheat sooner and slow down significantly, especially if you transfer large data. This is common and known issue for T7. T5 is actually more consistent in this regard.

These seem to be based on SATA SSDs instead of NVMe. In that case, you could just buy a cheap SATA SSD and install it in an enclosure which is less expensive.

Unless in unexpected circumstances the drive got fried (actually more likely to happen since NVME drives get hot during data transfers) at least you got SOME sort of protection (replacement is still better than money down the drain) with warranty

This is the whole reason I'm getting one. I recently got an Xbox Series X and still have the old external HDD plugged into it that was initially plugged into my Xbox One X. What was the point of getting a Series X with an internal SSD if I'm just going to slow it down with an external HDD? It's time to upgrade the external so I can get the most out of this new gaming console.

That's false. There is no way you can get 1000MB/s RW of this drive with SATA interface -- SATA III allows 600MB/s maximum

I don't understand why some people keep mentioning getting NVMe + USB enclosure for cheaper. Your customized solution gets very close to the $110 price tag here, plus it is probably bigger than T7.

Wish it was the fingerprint version. T7 under performs the SanDisk (in reviews) one on sale at Costco so probably better to go with SD for cheaper.

You can use a regular hdd to store ps4 games and play them.

A $30 USB 3.1/3.2 enclosure gives you 10GBps which is the same as what is offered in this product. Unless you want to spend >$60 on a Thunderbolt/USB 3.2 gen2x2 enclosure but that would end up being quite a bit more money than this.
