This is good price for a good cpu. However, I'll hold off on going 12th gen until prices comes down for the top tier motherboards and DDR5.

I recently bought an i7 for upgrade, then I noticed the overwhelming benchmark results on how Apple M1 outperforms i7. I am confused, how can a 10-watt M1 be faster than an i7 desktop CPU? I know this is more of a tech discussion but it is also interesting to SDers: if M1 is really that good, it seems make no sense to buy an i7 or i9 whose prices are close to a Mac mini M1 that works out of box.
