It also has the Touch Bar rather than a row of function keys.
My air for $636 was purchased the same way

And the touchbar is a big downgrade, most users agree, that's why apple has abandoned it and it's discontinued.
I recommend getting the 512GB for $1299. That is what I got but "satisfactory" for $1052 and it was worth every penny. I wouldn't pay $1299 for it though let alone $1499.
Just loaded up the Adobe apps I needed and nothing else and my drive is down to 414GB so I think 256GB is a criminal offense.
I was just buying this because it was so cheap and so I thought I'd test run it then probably return it but at this price and after using it I"M KEEPING IT haha. I've had YouTube running for the last 20 minutes while looking for deals on slick deals and my battery is still at 100% AFTER 20 minutes! I also have a Zephyrus Duo and just surfing chrome on that thing will kill it in just over an hour, my EcoFlow says it constantly using 284 watts for just SURFING the internet.
I own an i7 16" mbp, 14" M1 Pro and now this 13" M1. I've opened After Effects and rendered one of my bigger projects. Here are the render times for the same project which is a 32second clip: 16" took 16m42s, 14" took 6m31s and 13" took 11m26s
Like someone said the sale drives down the open box prices and this is definitely worth the open box prices. If you get "excellent" you should be good to go. If you roll the dice on anything lesser you should buy local so you can examine it before taking it home.

So, quick couple of questions:
1. How does this -->MacBook Pro M1 8GB/512 SSD compare to the one that I already have. It is a 4 year old Microsoft Surface Book (13 in) and has Intel Core i5 6300 [email protected] GHz. Ram is 8GB and HDD is 256GB
2. What is the return policy on Open-box Excellent MBPs? I hate giving BB business (15 years and counting I stopped buying stuff from BB) and as it seems I have to now, I'd rather give them 200 bucks less.
Thanks in advance for your help.
