These are the drives that came in the seagate expansion external drives. Buying them bare like in the op will give you a better warranty, but its not as cheap as the externals have been. These drives perform really well, I get 200+MBs which I consider blazing fast for a spinner.

actually reading reviews on amazon and checking the listing again, this seems to be OEM drive most likely too, just shipped by amazon but sold by "Tech on Tech" seller.

Last batch people were reporting IronWolf Pro's on the shucked external drives and not Exos. Agree with the Exos being good drives, specially at $200. Shucking is kind of playing Russian Roulette though, you don't know what drive you are really getting nor if the drive is going to die early enough that you would need the warranty that you are voiding when shucking.
So far have been lucky playing the shucking roulette definitely worth the risk if you are buying multiple drives. The likelihood of all drives being lemons and needing warranty claims is very low. Thus if you buy 4, then you would be saving $320 ($80x4), those $320 are enough to cover buying another drive in case one of the 4 drive fails.
I purchased from Tech on Tech before, through Amazon. Granted it wasn't this specific drive/deal. It was the Exos 16tb X18 a few months ago, and the warranty from seagate was valid for almost 5 years when I looked up the s/n.
This is a reasonable price. I paid 268, I believe; I need three more for my backup NAS 18TB.
I have 2 Synology, one for main stuff and plex and a second one backing up things and old ones, Two Mediasonic ones and a Terra Master to back up to the second Synology (backup one)
MediaSonic 15TB: almost full (raid 5)
MediaSonic 15TB: almost full (raid 5)
TerraMaster 8TB x8 (56TB using 5TB currently using to store new stuff)
Synology Main SHR2 = 84TB ( using 9.2TB ) Failover two drives
Synology BackUp the ones above 18TBx5 drives (72TB) with eight I can expand to 126TB using SHR1 failover one drive)
lol I know that nobody cares, but this is a 10yrs project and going (started with MediaSonic)
I really need to be Shit out of luck to lose data 1 huge NAS backing up other NAS

Same experience I've had with my 14TB externals, all Ironwolfs. However all of the 16TB+ drives are Exos though.

Have this exact drive. It is noisy, but it is a decent drive if you don't mind. By the way this isn't really a deal. The HDD was this price before Chia mining blew up and inflated all HDD prices.
Picked up 2 at $239 now, seems like you need to check warranty info when you receive to ensure they have full manufacturer warranty as that has been an issue in some reviews.

If it's not "Ships from Amazon; Sold by Amazon", it's not Amazon.
