What does the "Plus" bring to the table?
What does the Pro have that the Plus lacks?
970 Evo Plus brings slightly better random reads and writes and an improved sustained write over the 970 Evo. The 970 Pro (not to be confused with it's Gen 4 older sibling the 980 Pro) has better sustained and random writes than the 970 Evo Plus at the cost of sequential write speeds and a slight decrease in read speeds (in other words "it's a dud").
The Evo, Evo Plus, and Pro 970 drives are all very similar and it would be a fool's errand to try to spot the difference in day-to-day applications.
I would recommend the Evo Plus as it's almost always cheaper than the Evo (Don't ask, it's a weird market) and at this price is a good deal for a reliable well-rounded PCIe Gen 3 drive.
I'm really sorry to ask and am sure I'll get flamed but it's a question a lot of SSD newbies will ask "Does this meet PS5 min specs?"
(I find the ssd market confusing)

No. This item will not work. You need a gen 4 SSD.
Still waiting to replace my 1TB NVMe SSD I bought four years ago for $69. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 8-128TB.
Digitimes: Samsung new NAND flash capacity coming online in 2H21 may worsen price falls.
Everyone has been brainwashed to eat these high price because xyz reasons. It's easier and cheaper to print ssd NAND memory than make a hard drive yet you don't see those staying stationary at 1-2TB for the past 4 years.
$197.00 at Samsung.com using Edu Discount + Up to 10% CB
Update: Not sure why but a certain cashback sight only have me 3% cash back on this when they advertised Up To 10% cash back. Seems kinds shady doing that now.

I'm in the same boat as you. One easy thing I've learned is looking for Gen 4 in the description. If it's not Gen 4 then it won't work in PS5. If it's a Gen 4, it might work. Then you have to look into further details and that gets a bit tricky for me, I just look for speed and physical size as my next level of analysis.

Yes, thank you to you and the couple others that replied.
To you guys it's basic, but if it helps me make a quick buying decision on a deal that may sell out. SD has done it's job.
Thanks again.
