When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! In many cultures it is seen to have magical healing/fortuitous properties - not something that I would do ... but may have originally been driven by a quest to replenish the Mom's iron etc after giving birth?

Here is a link to an old video of Ryland singing a country song he loves.
He is adorable - and many of his actions remind me of my five year old - more on that later.

I posted last night, my Kleenex didn't work and there was no conflict. Dontknow

Something weird is going on there. . .
Could there be something funky in the coding of the coupon? I don't have a Kmart - but could there be something in that second bar that is running amok? Hope that it does not spell the end of your guys good fortune there!!!

Quote from qqueen :
OK, first the CAT I get at Target, now this....I am beginning to wonder if I am stuck in a dream.....
OK - WHERE the heck to you shop - I wanna shop there!!! LOL

Quote from 4BusyBees :
YES!! YES!! YES!!

We thought the gagging was due to enlarged tonsils so we had them removed in 2007. No change.

I literally want to cry. I'm sorry to be a Debbie Downer but I cringe at the selfishness of sometimes being embarrassed by my child. Not embarrassed OF him, but FOR him, kwim? My Dad treats him so differently than my other kids Frown
Ryland hugs everyone. I mean everyone. Since he's large for his age, people wonder WTH is up with him. To me he is a perfectly normal looking child. You'd have to spend time with him to fully see that he has oddities (thanks for that BBSkye). Ryland is just so special. It's almost like he looks right into your soul.
Everyone at school just loves him to pieces and he NEVER meets a stranger. He walks up, shakes your hand and introduces himself. Then he spells his name, just in case you think he said Ryan.He then proceeds to ask you if you want to hear about planets...then he names them in order and tells you facts about each one. Then he says "Do you like my baby sister? Isnt she just too cute?" He wants to tell everyone he meets his life story.

I also have friends that save their placenta to plant a tree.
Ok - I have to PM you because you are talking about my 5 year old!!!!!!!!!!!!! He LOVES everyone - so so so kind and generous - always has been - tries to hug & kiss everyone (you can bet how well THAT flies!) He has NEVER had stranger anxiety & will tell everyone his life story. Talks and talks and talks ..... even if no one is listening or responding. You often feel he is engaged in a monologue rather than a dialogue. But he has a very hard time making friends because he does NOT understand personal space, appropriate conversations (like they do not want to hear about gravity and how it increases with mass etc) He desperately craves friendship though and then feels sad when the other kids ostracize him .... but he does seem different. SIGH --- He is super smart (loves science/planet as well as philosophical stuff) Has HUGE texture issues both in food & environment - has HUGE trouble with change - EXTREME rigidity in that there is only 1 way to do things ever and any change can cause meltdowns of epic proportion. He is an insomniac and has great difficulty falling asleep and this can be challenging.

His birthday fell after the Sept cut off last fall but I pressed as he is SO bright and already could add/subtract knew all his numbers through 100 & all his letters for reading and writing. He had started reading simple words and LOVES learning!!! This was going INTO Kindergarten .......... it has been a huge fiasco - he is FAR ahead of his class academically but he is just socially nowhere near their levels. His teacher complained and complained about his behaviors - which I TOTALLY understand - so at the end of last year I asked for an eval and the teacher then said there was nothing wrong at all that he always fit in perfectly and had no idea what I was talking about??? So he is going on to first grade (not yet 6) and he is fine academically ----- but I rue the decision I made to send him early ---- I think it is going to be a horrible year.

Anyway - you may want to think seriously about the going early thing .... but I read your posts and it really sounds as if you are talking about my lil guy! HUGS HUGS HUGS to you!

As far as planting a tree of life - I think that sounds cool!

Quote from plgffl :
Kotex are in the trial section here. They were $0.97 (weird, target never usually does the .x7 I thought that was always left to walhell...) and I think 2 or 3 pads in the package. They are the actual pads too, not the liners.

Dec- I pm'd ya earlier, but I hope that you find your dog. My thoughts are with you and your family.
A whole bunch of stuff in our trial section is .97 (don't know about Kotex?) and it ALWAYS beeps! GRRR - I would much rather it cost $1! LOL Thanks for the PM!!!!

I have filed a report with the police & the humane societies - and put up posters and driven around for hours and called the local rescue groups ----- and nothing! WHO THE FU*% STEALS A DOG???????????? My lil guy stood at the end of our driveway tonight yelling and yelling for the dog he is so sad! I am even offering a reward!

Oh and I kid you not - was putting up a sign at a local burger joint who said we could put a sign on the door and a girl who worked there stopped to read the sign and look at the picture and said "If I found that dog I would take it home and keep it" EEK! WTH?

Quote from TexasCathy;2212292: :
I just told her no way, give it a few weeks. Things got better slowly but surely. But she would have had us drug him for her convenience. And she had been teaching kinder 15-20 years!!!!
I can not stand teachers like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kiddos are different and some are tough - but I think adding drugs to a kiddo is NOT always the solution. There is a time and a place for sure! Some people do benefit - but there are too many teachers AND parents who drug their kids willy-nilly hoping to make them easier to deal with - drug them into submission Frown Glad you stood your ground!

Quote from sbhiggins :
And Cold about the CIO. I certainly hope that's not true!! I've been thrilled about how BB (we call him baby boy, laugh out loud) has responded, but I'm always afraid someday he'll be sitting on a psychiatrist's couch complaining about something I did to him. . .
I think this is individually determined by parent and child & what works for one family may or may not work for another. I am sure you are doing what works best for you. It worked wonders for my first daughter - I didn't need it for my first eon - and my lil guy who is 5 it did NOT work for AT ALL! But then ..... nothing worked ---- and yup there are kids who CAN scream for 8 hours at a time until they are throwing up and completely beside themselves and keep screaming and not sleep ....... even if the doc says keep waiting! I am glad it worked for you - and as setsail said they will be on the couch complaining about a myriad of stuff so don't sweat the CIO stuff! LOL

Yes! nod I bedshare with my daughter b/c I know her and she'd probably scream until she passed out, then wake up and keep screaming. Heck, I'd be afraid that she'd need a straight jacket after the ordeal. She is really connected to DH and snuggles w/ him through the night...well he started working overnights and it is pure chaos over here. She crawls over to the door and sits there whimpering. My friend told me to let her CIO...sorry but what would that do? It won't bring back Daddy. So she said this is what I get for co-sleeping...thing is, this is DD, not a learned behavior. Some babies are social.

Hey BTW don't know if this is posted or not but I found $1.50 peelies for Caress body wash in the trial section...I think on the dove trial bodywash bottles. Don't know for sure, DD was trying to kill herself by jumping out of the cart.

Sharon - Yahoo! Congrats on the job!!!

Dec12 - OMG, I'm so sorry, I hope your four legged family member finds it's way home soon. hug

To everyone and their significant others searching for jobs, Pray they find one soon.

Had a OMG STC run today. He was too much of a Jedi... is there such a thing??LMAO I noticed that the total was getting to low for my liking and grabbed the stack and said oh I didn't get that let me take those, he grabbed them back and said no, I can take them and just push K1, I want you to save money, but I want to see how low I can get this total, do you think we can get it to zero...EEK!

I grabbed some back, and said no really I don't want you to get in trouble, I told him, you didn't have enough stock in and I didn't buy that many of them. So I did get a few back, but Bigeye he then asked about the ones in my envie and said give those ones to me, I told him, you didn't have these things (food items this T has very little) he says... I don't care, I just about Faint

Of course I didn't give them, he had already gotten my total EEK!
below than what I'm comfortable with.

My GD and her BFF and my DD were with me, when he finally finished, he said did I get it low enough for you..Crazy told me to have a nice night and come back to him again.

I'm like lets get out of here now, my DD is laughing and saying, guess you'll be going back to him again won't you Mom. I said OMG I don't know, he was a bit too K1 happy for me. Got in the truck and DD just kept laughing and saying I can't believe he wanted the rest of your coupons after you kept telling him no, you don't need to scan anymore..

I've had jedi's alot, but never one like this, wondering if he's an Sd'er himself...

Glad to hear someone else had a Jedi tonight as well, sorry can't remember who.

Anyway just had to share that with all you TCC's.

Question: Can someone please tell me where you are finding the Kelloggs FFS books, I've looked in the grocery stores and have found the Nabisco booklets (just found them today for the first time) but searched high and low for the kelloggs ones and nothing.
Found the nabisco ones on the school bus display.

I used the $2/1 T coupon on the sensitve pampers diapers, $4/1 MFQ and the $3/2 wyb wipes (did buy wipes too) and it was beep free. Thought one of them would, but nope.

Going to attempt my first KM run tomorrow (haven't been since last Nov.), so here's hoping all goes well with my Q's..

Happy Friday eveyone, hope you all have a great weekend full of Jedi's and beepless runs.

hug

OK.....I had to google Attachment Parenting laugh out loud I just read the eight principles, and didn't have time to read all the small print but to me (with the exception of the co sleeping) it sounds like basic parenting skills. It reminded me of "New Math". How many ways can you add 1+1? But they will forever more come up with "New Math".

So, they tell you to bond with your child while feeding, teach him/her respect for themselves and others, discipline with love, etc...give it a new name but in the end it's just plain ole parenting.

Quote from setsail :
. Since your son is over age 3 you can have an educational assessment done through the school district BUT that is a companion to a medical evaluation. School districts can not diagnose. Their purpose is to determine if the child meets requirements for accommodations in the classroom or is eligible for special needs preschool programs, for example. We had some issues with our school district, they refuse to accept our son's medical diagnosis (they don't have to, even when they are telling a parent to GET a medical diagnosis Mad ) so any behavior problems he has associated with autism were getting him in trouble. We finally got him moved to a self-contained classroom and things have gotten so much better for him.
Nikki, Just write a letter to your school district, do it now, because the timeline is pretty long. I can tell you what to write if you'd like. They might not want to test because academically he is doing so well, but make sure you explain that you think it's Aspergers and that he has trouble in social situations. If they do agree to test, make sure they not only do an education and psychological battery, but a neurological evaluation as well. The district has to pay for it if they feel it's warrented.

Great. I wonder what's going on. Usually you can narrow it down to user error like mixing huggies wipes/diapers, etc.

But I Pray this is not a storewide change!

Dec12: I hope you find your dog! That's terrible! That is the one thing I worry about with my dog as well. People are always stopping to visit with her and one day I'm afraid she'll be gone.

And hug to those dealing with kiddos with "oddities". I'm a counselor and agree with what's already been said. Don't leave it up to the schools to evaluate. Take them to an agency, get your diagnosis, then bring it to the school so they will have to set up an IEP or 504. Dec12, I think that would help your son a lot.

Anyone know of any Bush's baked beans coupons?

wtf on the post below mine??

Yesterday morning I begged for suggestions to be a good girl at Target.
I stopped last night after work. Looked for the Evil cashier who didn't like my puppy food coupons. She was not there when I got there. I proceeded to find about $50 plus of stuff for my shopping cart, went to check out. Picked the closest lane to the LOD, the same one as the night before. Nothing happened. Cashier scanned and scanned and boy did I have a load of beepers. I knew some of them would beep. CWS and the Air wick. I was more than willing for her to adjusted down or K1. I would say the cashier did an awesome job!

Dia, I hope you find your doggy!
Sharon, I am happy you found a job.

I find it interesting to read about the little ones. Yea, some school districts are soooo...much better than others.
Both my kiddos are HOH, and both their IEP's were so different through their school years.
I just want to whine a bit. Now ds had a terrible time in public school. He did NOT like anyone knowing he was hard of hearing. Any assistance listening devices, audio systems and special accommodations were like horrible to him. He was a pain in the tush to all around him. He was the Leader of the Pack for how often his name was written on the blackboard. Forgot this assignment, didn't finish this. So forth. By eighth grade he was failing three key classes, English, social studies and math. The school planned on retaining him. Their school psychologist diagnosed him with some type of defiance disorder. She, the school psychologist stated he will never listen and obey instructions from the teachers or others around him. We moved and changed school districts. He was put into 9th grade, the new school district would not think of retaining him. His speech and articulation was advanced his national test scores were in the top 10% of the nation. So, new school district put him into high school. Well, by the end of ninth grade he is failing five out of seven classes. What is a mom supposed to do? Drum roll......He was accepted into SJNMA for his sophomore year. He was told you have to pass these two classes and take summer school for these two. He did what they requested and failed the others. Funny huh...
Well, now this school year has ended and he graduated and is accepted into college. He will be going to a 4 year college am hour away.

That Oppositional Defiance Disorder that was suggested he had in middle school. How do you successfully complete 3 years at a military school, graduate as an officer there. Sign up for the United States National Guards and get accepted into a college?

Sometimes...us moms learn as we go. But we love our babies just for who they are.

The video says February, but it was actually last March/April 2008. (whenever the song first came out) So he was 3 in that video. He is sooo much bigger now. I just don't have any recent videos.

Bad news is that he may end up on a couch complaining about something you did to him, but the good news is that it's unlikely that thing will be CIO Tongue One thing I've learned in my few short years as a parent is that there is always something else around the corner that you'll have a chance to feel guilty about laugh out loud
Exactly! Thats what I meant. Some people think their way is the only right way. No, their way is right for THEM. It's like the whole spank/no spank issue.
I don't judge other people and their parenting skills. If it works for you..then rock on. I didnt bring home my placenta or eat it, but I am totally intrigued by my friends that did that. This same friend also water birthed which I thought was cool, but I'm too chicken to do it. HERE [yimg.com] is a link to some art. Also, Matthew McConaughey planted a tree of life with his son's placenta.

THIS [zcache.com] is too funny. Weird to me, but funny.

I am still breastfeeding my 16 month old at night (and only at night) Some people think thats weird. She is also the only one of my 4 children I breastfed.
