Thanks! Just did a bit more digging looks like H9G wins in all categories but lacking Airplay (I can live without) and USB 3.0 which I use a lot to play local high bit rate media. Have to pass!
can a good android box with usb3.0 / nvidia shield fix this for additional 100-150$??

Ordered one of this and waiting for delivery. Meantime, anyone has any experience with additional media players like nvidia shield to go with this? Will it solve any upscaling problems with low quality content that others mention as a disadvantage of this TV?

I don't believe this does 4k at 120 or variable refresh rate for the new consoles.
I have not even heard of 4k at 120.

Actually probably assembled in Mexico. Hisense bought the Sharp Mexico plant so most North American market sets are coming from there (also originally license Sharp brand, too, but then Foxconn bought Sharp and didn't want Hisense watering down the Sharp brand with bad product so they wrested it back after a couple years of Hisense "Sharp" Tvs. Foxconn intends to introduce Sharp TVs to North American market) Most TVs these days have a ton of Chinese parts in them but then they are assembled in plants all over the world. However, Hisense, like TCL is a Chinese company and like all Chinese company, they are part owned and supported by the Chinese government.

You mean like how the US gov't supports US companies?

You mean apple is different some how... cause not only are the parts made in China but it is also assembled in China.

Different level of support than we see in the US. Apple is not a Chinese company so they aren't directly tied to their government like actual Chinese based companies, but because they choose to use Chinese assembly companies and Chinese parts, they indirectly support the Chinese government. It really is unavoidable with electronics given the current world supply chain so I don't really fault any company and I own many Chinese branded products. I only post to inform, not to judge or discourage. The topic was raised so I decided to provide the information. Some may care, others may not.

Funny... cause your post sounds like you are judging.

About Apple... all their parts are made in China (motherboard, CPU/ GPU, etc... ) and the gov't can do what they want. It has already been noted that a Chinese spy chip was found on apple motherboards (years ago) and apple just denied it. Guess, what... I feel apple lied to protect their perceived brand name... and I guess it worked... just listen to what you are saying.

I'm actually not an Apple fan boy either and I don't absolve them of anything but don't want to degenerate this further into politics so let's end this here.

Hi all, I got an email from costco for this LG 65" TV

https://www.costco.com/.product.9...123_MVMEnd

On sale for 649.99. I did my best to google comparisons to this hisense but didn't find anything. I'm not that tech saavy so if you guys can help me out, trying to make a decision as to which TV would be "better" or if they are really comparable. My main use will be gaming XBOX series S and PS5 disc version. TIA

H9G will destroy it for picture quality - much better brightness, better contrast, local dimming, better color once calibrated, etc. However, despite being a 120 hz panel, it won't accept 120 hz signal and doesn't have hdmi 2.1 (whether this matters depends on hard core you are with gaming). The LG will/does. LG will have wider viewing angles and since Costco, better warranty. Beyond that is what you think of LG as a brand vs Hisense.

All depends on what media you are trying to play. My guess is it's either not necessary (TV can play it directly) or not enough (need more horse power to decode for highly compressed or high bitrate media, I'm not familiar with what NV shield can do)
