Neither of those statements are true. Only thing the C1 has going for it is VRR. The 77" panel of the A80J Is an evo panel that's unlocked so it's brighter than the 55" or 65" models. The 77" C1 is evo supposedly but software locked.

The sony also just beats out LG for image quality so not sure what you mean. Side by side screens really show how crushed LG is compared and upscaling is also much better as well as calibration out of the box.

I have a very bright room. TV will be used in this room both at day and night. Should I get an OLED (A80J/C1) or just get a Samsung QN85A or Sony X90J? Thanks in advance.
led is recommend for brighter rooms. But even OLED is better , I currently have it my in living room. but if it's too bright, it may not suffice your requirement, I mean more exposure to windows and sunlight constantly. As long as you can cover part of it with curtains etc, you are good. OLED beats samsung leds out of the water in picture quality

Have been looking to purchase the 77" for awhile now. After the 10% back it's $2700 delivered on Monday. Finally pulled the trigger. Now let's hope the eye test makes it worth the $$!
Just got this today (thanks Amazon 2 day delivery!) and it's better then I thought. Watched Encanto with the family and it passed the wife and kids test. If you're on the fence I'm giving this a "it's worth every penny" approval.

It was as scheduled and right on time. I live in Phoenix so we have huge Amazon warehouses nearby so very fast delivery is pretty common for me in my area.

Thanks, did they also give you an incredibly wide delivery window for day of? They indicated anywhere between 09:00 - 21:00.

Wow, haha that's quite the window. No I was able to select the time slot I wanted it delivered. Each slot was a 3hr window. I chose 9am-12pm and they were there at 10am.

OLED screens are not very bright, I would be very careful before investing 3K if you will be watching in a bright room and with windows facing the tv. I have X90J and it sure is brighter than A80J (one of my buddy has A80J), but it does have reflections from windows. To me, X90J seems better value overall. It all depends on how particular you are with the darks and overall picture quality for your day to day viewing.

I think OLEDs will keep improving on brightness year after year, maybe 2023/24 when it will be on par with LEDs and they becoming mainstream (unless of course a new tech comes and beats OLEDs in picture quality).

I have spent only few minutes on A80J, so I cannot say how much better it's picture quality is when compared to X90J (the few minutes were also in broad daylight). What was very apparent in those few minutes was how less bright it was compared to X90J. The magic of OLEDs comes out at night time viewing or in a dark setting, so i have heard.

Thanks the the input. For the NYC area, I was only given that option of 09:00 - 21:00 on the particular day I chose. Come to think of it, but maybe the later delivery dates there would be more options, but for the earliest delivery there were none. Could be they are busier with the Super Bowl happening that weekend and delivery times can't be estimated as well.

I have the X90J and love it and it is plenty bright. It is a great value and seems to be better then the Samsung's that are similarly priced. My only complaint is that it handles reflections very poorly. If only...

Anyone think the 77 in" will have a further price drop before stock runs out? I think I'd rather have a 2021 Sony OLED since I heard its speaker is better than the 2022 budget Sony oled. I'm probably going to make a GTow offer before stock runs out
