i'm 4 months in, coming from the 3a to 5a, and hate this thing. I swear the 2 year old 3a performed daily tasks more reliably.
The camera and battery are better, but overall it's not much of an upgrade. I never thought I'd consider moving to an iphone, but this thing has me cursing android.
Strange. I went from the 3 to the 5a and think it's a significant upgrade (except for lack of wireless charging). I'm really enjoying the 5a.
Waiting for $299 without Fi, just plain unlocked.

Same here...The 5a is my favorite Pixel of all time. Like it much better than the 6 Pro I sold...
I read that the latest update have improved them. But Tensor is the future and typically asks you to pound sand as they like so I couldn't count on 5a being supported with all the feature drops.

If you can get one with Tensor chip and they would iron out issues. Same can't be said on the SD chipsets

It was $399 during Dec for the unlocked and had inflated trade in value. Like $320 for iPhone XR.
Yep!!! So glad I got that deal with $320 iPhone XR trade-in.

I missed it by a time zone. Heart wants p6 brain says 5a. Money is indifferent on either for me.

I originally wanted the 6 but I hate the in-screen fingerprint reader on my Samsung and the 6 Pro also has a curved screen which I don't like either so I just got the 5a and I'm glad I did. Hopefully Google fixes these issues in the future... but the 5a should easily last me 2 or 3 years if I don't destroy it somehow.

Is there something that indicates this being likely within the next few months, or are you just saying you hope it happens. I'd like to wait too, and it'll make me feel a bit better about doing so if you know something that points to it being imminent.

I'm extremely observant on mobile phone deals for past three mos, if you can wait and no need for phone then you almost get better deals as the months progress. But Google typically runs deals randomly apart from Thanksgiving and Christmas

No, I don't know any more than you do. I am just hoping for a better break than $399. But Google has been pretty stubborn with the 5a so far, even down to basically keeping all sales of it in-house.

If the rumored P6A launch happens in May, I bet you'll find some discounts on the P5A

Thinking back on it, I bought my current 3a XL in March 2020. Google started sporadic deals on the 3a\3a XL in February, deals lasting a few days and then back to retail for a week or two and then another drop in price for a few days and then back to retail. You had to be on your toes, checking the price several times a day. At that time they were dumping the 3a phones through Amazon.

Can a Fi locked phone be used on T-Mobile? Isn't T-M the system Fi is on?

It is a class above. I can't decide, and I have been looking since they went on sale at Fi for $399 and $349. Now that they are both $299, it is hard to pick the 5a over the S21.
