According to the photos on Tom's hardware, it's all soldered together. No m.2 connector is inside the enclosure.
Also noteworthy, this is a DRAMless SSD. It's gonna be faster than your average hard drive, but it will be less responsive than other SSDs thanks to a lack of DRAM. Since it will already be used with the overhead of USB, it likely won't be an issue for a lot of casual users.

In terms of speed, USB 3.2 Gen 2 = USB 3.1 Gen 2.
At least it's 1 step above HDMI 2.1 in terms of having any meaning...
