Im a bit away from the pokemon games. My son recently got into the shows and card game a lot. I would like to get him an open world game where he can run around and catch them and battle trainers etc like the original but much better. Any of the games on the switch that do that that are also good?
Sword/Shield is your best bet. Big world with open areas to see Pokemon roaming and still has the classic turn-based battling and trainer/gym storylines.
Which is better in your opinion, Arceus or the Digimon Sleuth Collection game? Sons birthday is in a few weeks. He likes both series. He liked the Shield Pokemon game, but from what I've read this Arceus is a very different game, so I'm not sure.
Cyber Sleuth is a great game, but there's some really unnecessary sexualization of female characters in it, which, depending on your son's age, might push you toward Pokemon.
Look at all these Pokemon snobs gathered here at SD. All reviews I've viewed on YT are positive, and people in the comment section are positive too. It's also the best reviewed Pokemon game in quite a while, with 86 currently on Metacritic. I don't know what you guys expected the game to be, but most people who have experienced it say it's good (certainly the best of the Switch Pokemon games).
Don't forget, most people like the Kardashians. I'm glad for people if they enjoy it. I didn't like it at all and I have over 120hrs in Sword/shield and 30 ish hours into diamond. I don't think expecting basic stuff from a million dollar company is being a snob. the lighting effects are so bad the shadows come out green or purple ish depending on the time of day. a guy had a random green mustache because of this when I was playing. I feel like the level of lazy shouldn't be brushed off as someone being a snob ... this is how game freak has gotten away with this all these years to begin with.
Umm for the obvious reason of not everyone has a hacked switch, so they know this is normal for all new games at Walmart and isn't a special deal.
Umm just because it's normal for Walmart doesn't mean it's not a deal. This site isn't called special slick deals, it's just called slick deals. $10 off newly released games is a good deal for someone that plans on buying said game at release. Not that hard of a concept to grasp...

You're still going to put in tons of hours into PLA. Don't kid yourself.

I bought this for $49.94+tax and already got notification from Amex of the $10 cash back.
