Please understand gamefreak is a small independent developer with no monies ๐
sounds like they got some HUGE problem then eh? Pokemon tops the sales chart whenever they release some slightiestly modified version of anything. Yet they are a small developer with no money? whats happening?
Im a bit away from the pokemon games. My son recently got into the shows and card game a lot. I would like to get him an open world game where he can run around and catch them and battle trainers etc like the original but much better. Any of the games on the switch that do that that are also good?
Shin megami tensai whichever is the latest one that came out. You can capture the enemy creatures and merge them together to make crazier enemies.
edit: you don't capture the enemies, you convince them to join you during a battle. also there's some sexual content, a lot of female enemies with big boobs.

SMT V is a great game but it is definitely not for children. It has a lot of very mature themes (not just sexual, but religious/moral) so if his son is not yet a teenager, I wouldn't recommend it.
Comments from here and around the Internet have really turned me off on this game, considering the potential of this game to be absolutely huge. It's so disappointing that Game Freak failed to deliver again.
Reviews are largely positive from many publications. This game got a lot of hate from the community based on early trailers, and much of it was warranted given how poor the graphics looked.

I agree 100%. I am really enjoying it so far - much more than I thought I would. The only thing I dislike is the graphics so far. I really enjoy the new gameplay.

Any guesses as to when we might see a deal on the digital version?
Deal dead, went to gamestop to price match. They were willing but the deal already ended at Walmart.
Got the game anyway with all my gamestop discounts.
Not sure what all the hate is about.
Graphics are no worse than breath of the wild and people raved about how great that looked. Considering this is the first time pokemon has ventured into the realm of actual action adventure, I'm not at all upset about the graphics not being stellar for the trade off of a fresh new approach to a game I've played since childhood.

This comment confuses me a bit. I know that the reception early on was negative, but since the most recent leaks, the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. A quick Google search tells you that

Ehhh... Breath of the Wild gfx were leagues beyond this game.

Maybe, but the Zelda franchise has been working on action style games for decades and know how to work those fine wrinkles. This is their first time doing a game quite like this and I'm sure alot of their resources were spent in figuring out how to transition into this genre versus fine tuning lighting. The very first thing we said as soon as we loaded up the game was "this looks like breath of the wild". So it's similar enough that I think people are overreacting to minor lighting issues versus the game as a whole.

Seems like the consensus is if you can ignore the bad graphics there's a solid game here that will appeal to fans and newcomers.
