1. Wireless connectivity issues . So connect via eth. If your device connected to vpn it won't work unless you disconnect vpn.
2. Setting up scan to email. You need update port settings and perform a series of steps to work.
3. No double sided printing
4. Haven't tried photo printing . I feel may ran out color cartridges quickly.
5. With BW printing it may last for 500 pages.
6. Very heavy printer.
7.good price point during this inflation times. HP lasers are running $500
Try charging the "default tray" setting to load from, it works for me.
If out of stock everywhere, I think that everyone will get the same mileage.

I have the MF642Cdw (similar but it has a doc feeder and it does print duplex) that I managed to find during the printer pandemic 2 years ago (the month(s) everyone was first sent home and printers were out of stock everywhere) and

Seen alot of mediocre and even bad reviews but mine has been stellar.
It does everything I want to and prints are beautiful.
Once I was unable to print to it but it was fine after a power reset. After that I set it to a static IP (which I / anyone else should have done right away anyway) and its been perfect since.
My kids and wife Apple airprint to it all the time. We scan to email with it using a generic gmail account.
The time came to replace toner - I bought off brand (for like 1/10th the price of OEM of course) and I was nervous of the quality or if it would even work....
....
Flawless. The re-manufactured toner is printing like its a brand new printer. This is the toner I bought:

Ive done Id say between 1.5-2k prints so far (on the 4th ream of paper)
I will say that the doc feeder is nice, especially when scanning a pdf to email. I would not love the printer near as much without it, so something to consider.
