$20 to not worry about losing your number? Seems worth it to me, then you can always use wifi to make calls if you don't have cell service. Or get an obi and go old school...lol

Some previous slickdeals comments suggest that Mint added an IMEI check but you can get around that by activating through their website and not from the phone.

This is a new sim kit, means a new number or port in from another carrier. You can port out to other cheaper ones such as Ting and port back in.

Thanks. I just read BBY's Q&A, saying that I need to be away for 30 days to be eligible to rejoin. If so, how long can I wait to activate? My plan is up in the middle of April. Add a month to that, the earliest I can rejoin is middle of May. That is more than 3 months away.

Do I also need to sign up for a new account, or, I can just use my previous account to join mint again? Sorry for so many questions.

Somebody stated in a previous comment about 90 days, that wasn't true last year in my case when I ported back within 60 days.
If FAQ says 30 then you should be able to port back in 30. I used the same email address and phone number.
As far as the validity of these sim cards, they last for lot longer than 3 months. I activated my previous one after 8 months from the purchase from Best Buy

Port your number to Google Voice and then you can just go on to the next Mint sim card and get a new number without worrying about it

FYI - Last time we had this deal ( Christmas of 2020 ), I was able to purchase 2 cards and use 2nd one in about 4-5 months from a purchase day, obviously with a new phone and registration in general

FWIW, I've had two family members on Mint Mobile for a few years now. In both the Boston and Cleveland area there have been very few issues. Mint Mobile is a very good deal IMHO so long as you don't travel outside of US.
