Fyi it's limit 2 at each store. Best Buy cancelled orders from my wife's account even though I tried different names, shipping and billing addresses, credit cards, and VPN. Also avail at bed bath and beyond dot com but doesn't get 20% off.

MIne have been acting strange with YoutubeTV. When I press right on the D pad to skip forward, it pauses, a second press skips backward, third press then skips back to where you started, and fourth press finally advances! I just started this about 4 days ago!
They also run out of memory. Had to add $40 worth of accessories to free up space - a USB-C hub, micro SD card, and larger power supply to power it all!

Best Buy is the worst. Weeks ago I tried buying just 1 of this and they kept cancelling the order. They did the same with a Fire TV Max.

How the hell am I supposed to use up their shitty gift cards?

If your not happy with (the memory on) your Google Chromecast w/TV, try out the Tivo Stream 4k [tivo.com] which is on sale for $29.99 (at Best Buy [bestbuy.com] as well). The Tivo Stream 4k is a streaming 'stick', similar to Chromecast w/TV and Roku.

Personally, I like the Tivo remote better; the interface could be better, but I've had no problems with the memory.

If you have Sling, then you can stream OTA channels as well as save your tv shows (like the TiVo DVR's).

eta: works with Stadia [google.com] too

You can TECHNICALLY play stadia from this thing too.
In terms of upgrade, its more like a lateral pivot. This one comes with an interface and a remote, lacks an Ethernet. Chromecast Ultra lacks the OS interface,but has an ethernet option. Output wise, they technically capable of the same. Just getting 4K over wifi is not possible for everyone.

when we find such streaming devices (e.g. google, amazon, apple) used from garage sales/flea market, can we 'unlock' them to use & add them to our account? Or do they have to be released by the current registered account?

I have both devices, the new fire stick max is much better, as long you debloat it and install a custom launcher, 30 mins worth.

You can use them, just do a search for "factory reset ____" and then go ahead and set them up under your account.

The streaming devices are not 'locked' to an account. You can do a factory reset to wipe the data if you get a used one.
