I don't game as much as I used too. But when I do, color looks good and
perform fine at 1440p. If you are a heavy gamer. I'm sure you will see the flaws more then me.
No complaints so far.

This was one of the best gaming monitors you could buy two years ago.

I bought this almost two years ago, back in April 2020. I used this for both work and game, no complains, next to U2415. My other half complained her dual U2415 setup is too small. So she now has it as the main monitor + U2415, and I have the Monoprice zero G 32 inch flat + U2415. It is much better than the zero G, but I can live with the zero G.
I got the Dell after carefully considering this one. I have no regrets & the 165hz is really nice to have

NewEgg is selling refurb M27q for $270 today.
165hz, slim very classy border. Rear Lighting that can be turned on/off. top notch build quality. Dell makes monitors that last.

So far I'm happy with the brightness. Not as bright as my M1 MacBook pro 13" display but I'm ok with that. (Even when the LG is set to max brightness, but with power saving still on)
I'm using the monitor for work exclusively at the moment, so can't comment on any of the gaming features... But text handling is acceptable. Scrolling up and down on a long spreadsheet is fine, panning left and right is fine... But if you grab the whole window and drag that around, the text looks horrible. I'm using the included HDMI cable via a USB dongle.
Glad I got this 27" instead of the 32" VA panel from Costco, the 32" would be too big for my desk which is only 53" wide and 23" deep.
Also note, the power cord on this monitor is too short, it's only like 4 feet, if even that.
oh and there's no built in USB hub... no USB at all. not a huge deal for me but a little bummer.

I would not buy anything open box or refurbished from newegg for a while...
There are a few better (newer) monitors in this price range but this is still a very good monitor and good value if you're on a tight budget. If you really want quality HDR expect to pay 2x this price at least.
What are some good- 1440p or above, 144hz or above, 27/32 inch hdr monitors in 500-600 range, mostly spreadsheets browsing etc w some gaming ? TIA
Now sits happy next to my older LG 32" 4k that is only 60hz and my 16" MBP that powers them both
