Metacritic user reviews are a 5.7! People either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it, but it's split about 50 50. I just can't see how a game could be so love/hate.
50 50, just like the political climate that I would rather stay away from. I buy games to escape the non-stop politics and division being thrown at us from every angle. It would be refreshing if games could just be games again.

Easily one of the top 3 PS4 games I've played.
So many people so butt-hurt about a game. Ironically, I bet many of them are the kind of people who call others snowflakes.
For reference I like games like splinter cell, metal gear solid. It's unfortunate there are people who politicize a video game. Yes there are lesbians and some outback country militia vibes going.
Can't imagine what they must think of the Far Cry series.
To me this one was better than the first. And the first was the best game I ever played.
The gameplay is solid and the graphics are great, but the story was nowhere near as good as the first. I didn't listen to all the bad reviews, because I thought there was no way they could mess this up, but I was wrong. Abby, the new girl, is such an annoying, completely irredeemable character. She brought the game down, big time.
I really wanted to like this game, but it was awful.

I've been catching up on several other acclaimed games (God of War, Uncharted 4, Persona 5, Breath of the Wild) which have decent stories, but none of which have such an ambitious vision that is executed without compromise and plays out so beautifully.
If you need video games to fill you with happy thoughts, or if you dislike having complicated emotions towards main characters, then TLOU2 is not for you. Otherwise, I wish I could forget the story so I could play it again. Super hyped for the HBO show.
