Well, the current price of the bare tool is $129, battery is $99, and charger is $35.

$129+$99+$35=$263 The math checks out.

Solid homeowner choice at this price. I think it's been this price pretty regularly since the holidays. In fact it was re-posted 20 days ago. Regardless, for those that are interested:

Real-world torque on this is about 240 ft-lbs. That's plenty for things like lug nuts and removing mower blades. You can't do drivetrain or heavy construction work with it, but if you do that kind of work, you know that already.

This guy tests the P261 and the new brushless P262 for real-world torque on his YT channel.

P261 test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWeguH-2UJA

P262 test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpxHkkzxeUE

Thorough reviews and scientific measurements with all the technical info (e.g. battery types) and real-world results.

TL;DR: The P262 brushless is more than twice as powerful, achieving 91% of claimed torque vs. 81% test achievement on the P261.

What do you mean by "just alright?" If it loosens your 200lb torqued bolts what else do you expect? There arent many bolts torqued that high on most cars.
Because it feels cheaply made. The motor is brushed and sparks when you use it. If you hit the trigger multiple times too fast the tool locks up. You need to wait a second or two between ugga duggas.

Blemished is new. At least everything I have ordered. Full warranty, etc. I don't do refurb on inexpensive tools
I don't know how many times people have to reiterate that blemished is literally the SAME EXACT box you will get at Home Depot. It is NEVER anything less than brand new.

$72 at dto.
Thanks for showing us another option. But it's also valuable to note that DTO = Factory Blemished - which is comparing apples to oranges with the HD product.... if buying blemished or refurbished products for a lower price point is your cup of tea - then it's a "better" deal. If not, then spend a few dollars more at HD... look around

How many Ryobi chargers are people ending up with? I have 3 Ryobi devices and 3 batteries and 2 of the ok/decent bundle chargers like the one in this deal.

All brushed motors spark because you are breaking an inductive circuit with current flowing in it.

The motor locks up on you because its a safety feature so you don't damage the motor.

Shipping is $10. How is your math this morning?
$10 more to have it in my hand that day and I can take advantage of the Home Depot return policy which is very generous. It's worth buying brand new. False economy to buy rando return. Is the DTO shilling part of some sort of marketing strategy?

1. Did you read the post right before yours before posting?
2. Have you ever ordered anything from DTO b4?

Very few people need the 600ft-lbs brushless model. I have this thing and it works perfectly for anything I've ever thrown at it. 300ft-lbs is nothing to snuff at.

I used this wrench to replace the anode in water heater - a piece of cake!
And learned from that case that impact wrench shall not be used to tighten nut - leaks after nut was tighten.

Yes it is brand new. Same tool, same box, sAme warranty. Every single blemished product coming from direct tools outlet is coming from the same source as Home Depot. They label it blemished to get around the contracts in place with Home Depot exclusivity.

Seems like a good deal for the price. But it probably won't be able to handle every fastener on the typical car, even less so on older ones with rusted and seized fasteners. But for $100 you can't really complain about that, or its being brushed. But if you expect to do more serious auto work, e.g. remove axle nut, crank bolt, suspension, etc., and can swing it, you'd be better served spending a bit more for a brushless mid-torque wrench in the 400-500ft-lb range.

Or, check out this deal and consider getting the Milwaukee M12 Fuel brushless stubby 3/8" impact, which is about the best all-around impact wrench made these days, for $26 more, but for the tool only. If you already have M12 tools then you should be set, otherwise it's going to cost you for batteries and a charger. You can search the site for other deals that include this wrench.

Btw this Ryobi looks a lot like my old Craftsman C3 1/2" impact wrench. Any chance both are made by the same company?
TTI (who makes Ryobi under license) used to make Craftsman cordless before the brand was sold to Stanley/Black & Decker in 2018 So it may be close.

I think I got the wrench around mid-2018 and it was a model that had been out for at least several years, from their C3 18V line, so there's a good chance it was made by them. Decent wrench, just slightly underpowered for its size and brushed. I probably won't be using it much now that I got the M12 stubby 3/8" wrench. At this point I think that no one should be getting an impact wrench in the mid-torque size under 400-500ft-lb. Anything lower should be a compact impact wrench. Unless money's really tight.
