SN850 been selling for $2 more.

This is $20 cheaper than the previous best price for this SSD. I was excited to get one for $268 with a $15 Newegg promo card around Black Friday. it's been $250 on Amazon for a while now. Now Amazon is matching this price, too!

It's among the fastest SSDs out there, and now at an affordable price. How low will it go?

Seems good. It doesn't beat the best deal I've seen on the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB w/ heatsink from GameStop at $209 ( https://twitter.com/Wario64/statu...3889252354 ) but is pretty close. I just installed my 980 pro last night for elden ring - was totally out of space. I just have 6 games installed

Samsung dropped their 2TB Gen 4 980 Pro with heatsink twice over the past week on Gamestop and Samsung Direct between $200-$225.

I have the Samsung myself but why hold out for it over this Gammix? Speedwise I think I saw the gammix specs say 6100 MB/s, while the Samsung after install yesterday in my PS5 is almost 6500 MB/s ( https://twitter.com/Shahryar/stat...3790162949 )- But may this is all negligible?

Thanks for posting this. I had a $100 gift card burning a hole in my pocket, so I only ended up paying $147 after gift card and taxes.

I have this in my PS5. It tested a little over 6k. I don't recall right now. It is Adata for what it's worth.

Very tempted to get this for my PS5, which is still in processing and has not shipped out from Walmart >_<. Adata has said they have a fixed build of materials for this drive and will have the same controller for its manufacturing cycle. Doesn't affect me if I get this drive now.

The official specs from the manufacturer are 7400/6800 read/write speed for the Gammix and 7000/5100 read/write speed for the Samsung. Your milage may (and will) vary in your home system, depending on all of your other hardware and how you're using the drive.

In the real world, they're pretty close according to Userbenchmark.com, where users test and log their real world systems. The Gammix is slightly (6%/4%) faster overall, with each one trading off in coming in ahead of the other in different individual testing metrics. The Samsung is more consistent and has a lot more users testing them, while the Gammix has more very high scores (and a few more low scores) and fewer users testing them.

You also don't have to be a student or pay for a Gamestop Pro membership to get these prices right now. And the Gammix comes with a (fairly crappy) heatsink, as opposed to none at all for the Samsung (at this price point, at least.)

In short, they're both pretty great SSD's, among the very fastest on the planet. You won't go wrong with either of them.

Thanks for this. One thing I did want to clarify is that the 980 Pro, or at least the version I got, did come with a heatsink: https://www.gamestop.com/pc-gamin...17157.html . This was the $209 deal from a few weeks ago
