Your calculation is right, but your interpretation is off. The result means how many gig can be bought per dollar, clearly your dollar buys more gig for 6TB one.

To calculate the cost per TB, use

$75/4 tb = $18.75/tb
$110/6 tb = $18.33/tb
Except those are Red (SMR) not Red Plus (CMR).
6TB one for $110 is cheaper per TB wise.

8TB for $120 would be cheaper still if one knew where to buy it.
6TB one is on the same Amazon page, just choose 6TB option. Mind sharing where to buy 8TB for $120?

SMR is fine for non-raid media storage. Especially something like unRAID.

Newegg frequently had these for $68. You could try Amazon warehouse for $65 (probably a bad idea if it was shipped multiple times and possibly used)

Decided to pull the trigger on this. My NAS drives are pushing 7 years old (CMR WD Reds).

And not sure we will see those prices again. With record inflation, what qualifies as a "deal" is a changing Frown.

BB has it price matched so if you want local pick up that's also an option.

6tb was sold out for shipping and in my area though.
