Cheapest price on the 10 inch saw in about 2 years according to CCC.

The 12 inch also has a $40 coupon going on, which also makes that the cheapest price in about 1 year.

Yes. You need a pocket knife and the cheapest 10" mitre saw money can buy.
Depends on how much you are doing. Also depends how much you care about rear clearance.

Only doing a couple boards? Maybe a small room? You can get away with a circular saw and a speed square. Heck you could use a hand saw or even a multi tool for a few boards lol

Doing an entire house in the suburbs? Getting more into woodworking in general? Want to keep this up against a wall and not move it around? This is probably the move
This is necessary only if you do woodwork. For baseboard, most $100 miter saw is more than sufficient.

Not a bad price. Debating between 10 inch vs. 12 inch...

Been waiting for a deal on this. I'm in for one. I sold my DWS780 because I'm building a miter saw station. The rear clearance this style saw has is needed. Thanks OP!

Having owned by the DWS780 (currently) and the Bosch 12" Glide, it's a toss-up. I wanted to love the Bosch but it had such rough starting that I had to sell it for fear of the motor seizing. Hopefully that's just a bad one and not something indicative of their motors. But I loved the rear clearance!

I've got the 12" and I love it. Great saw! It's super accurate, and easily adjustable. Don't forget to get a good blade. Taylor Toolworks sells the CMT Orange Chrome blades at a great price.

I have the same dewalt saw and love it but man that rear clearance is a killer for my small shop.

I got the metabo saw that was on sale a while back at lowes (still in the box lol) but really considering selling both and getting this saw...Very tempted.

Is this overkill for LVP flooring and baseboard/trim install?

It will be ~1000 sq ft of flooring and trim for 6 doors and 4 windows, so not a HUGE project. And woodworking - just doing a mudroom, bench afterwards, that's about it.
So just not sure if this is worth to get over say a metabo that cost 200-300

What about for trimming out a 1,500 square foot basement with some crown?

This is dual bevel which is not usually necessary for crown, but is very helpful, and only available on more expensive saws. Dual bevel can be had cheaper than this though.

This saw is for people who have limited rear clearance, if you don't want that feature, this probably isn't the best option, IMO.

I own the Dewalt sliding compound miter with a bosch stand. I used it a couple times for over 1,000 sq feet of vinyl floor, but it was actually easier to use a jig saw over a 5 gallon bucket. Jigsaw was quieter, allowed me to do angles (not critical for boards covered by quarter round) and curves and all the weird shapes that go under the door frames. (get an oscillating cutter and watch videos on it. Nothing worse than spending a ton of time and money on do it yourself and having a guy come in and see how crappy your transitons are under doorways. Guy at work was showing off a job he did and I was just trying not to cringe at the pics.

As for quarter round and baseboard, yes, any cheap saw may do fine, but I'd buy a better blade, more like a fine tooth blade. Do something to fil in the gap for the cut to go through to help with tearout. Cheap pine tends to splinter a bit. You will want it to miter at least one way, but 2 way is much nicer.
