Probably not. These are usually OEM, meaning they stay with the device.
04-12-2022 at 06:03 PM
Yes. It is a full retail license and is transferable.
04-17-2022 at 04:27 PM
Yes, according to the Microsoft forum:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/transfer-a-2021-pro-plus-license-to-a-new-device/ee06e55f-1224-4d3a-ba8d-aad27d2e4e76

Except they usually don't activate any longer after a month or so.

Try to register the key in your Microsoft Account.

Later, in the new Pc you can download it in the Microsoft Office page. Select the Office version and install online.

They'll be banned. The Plus version is a corporate or educational license. When Microsoft finds out they're being sold individually in violation of the license, they'll ban them.

Quote from StephenCarboni :
Be aware that there are some difference between 2021 and Office365 that you may use at work.
luckily, the key differentiator (PREVIOUSLY) between the one-time purchase version and the 365 subscription version was that the 365 version had the collaboration features and the standalone version didn't. For example, that means multiple people can be working on the same spreadsheet at the exact same time in real-time. John may be in cell C3. Jane in F25. Joe in another worksheet. The standalone versions (Office 2019, Office 2016, etc.) didn't have any collaboration features really.

But now Office 2021 has those features too.

So now, the key differentiators are feature updates and additional collaboration features like live chatting and comments. Office 2021 will get security updates but no new features. And with 365, you get the smartphone/tablet apps as well as installing on any and all device with up to 5 devices actively being used at once versus 1 device only with Office 2021.

So now I can wholly recommend the standalone one-time Office 2021. The collaborative features are truly awesome and was what got our company to go to 365. Our 40+ staff could view and edit the same set of documents without worrying about someone locking the document. Previously, Office 2019 was only recommended by solitary people who didn't need to work with other people.

And for $50, it's a no-brainer if you're not into subscriptions. For regular price, it's hard to justify the standalone version because by the time your subscription costs equal the cost of the standalone, you would've gotten many years of usage and feature updates. Or you're the type to stick with a single version for a very long time. Like t hose people still using Office 2003 or 2007.

I have Office 2019 do not need this upgrade as the only difference is Ms Teams integration - a feature I never use.

See review below for comparison

actually, Office 2019 didn't have the collaboration features. maybe that doesn't mean anything for you but for many groups of people who work on documents together, it means a lot.

Is the "lifetime" for the lifetime for Office 2021 only or does it progress through future versions? MS has a way of considering upgrades as new software, ie Win 95, Win 98 etc. Big lawsuits at DoD while this was going on and I was there...
you aren't entitled to future versions of the software. You get to "own" Office 2021 indefinitely and that's it (and security updates). No feature updates. No upgrades.

Anyone with a 365 subscription replaced it with this and ended their subscription successfully without making a new account? Microsoft accounts require phone numbers so it's not easy to just make a new one.

Also, if my computer dies I can transfer this to a new computer correct? Just as long as it's only on one computer at a time? Has this been confirmed?

This was a 600+ frontpage deal (with a number of reposts). How come that one marked expired and replaced by this? This deal has existed for quite some time now.

I had to get my Macbook replaced recently, and was able to activate it on the new one w/o any issue.

Thank you! Got that deal, have MS Office Pro installed and even figured out how to use it without signing in (as long as you don't use the cloud to store docs).

Repped!
