What you should do is order it, and when it comes in, look at the ram stick installed. There will be a brand name, and a model number/part number for the RAM stick in there. Just Google that, and usually you can find someone on Ebay selling that exact same thing for very little money. That way you have a (somewhat) matched pair, but only have to buy one.

IMO:
Windows 10 is a plus at this time
SD and DVD drive are a plus
Here's a link to Acer for better info than eBay - https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/con....BH7AA.002
Yes, the 512GB storage is SSD of some kind, either SATA or NVMe.

You only need 1 additional stick. https://www.microcenter.com/produ...2A_-_Green No need to waste your money getting 2 sticks.
Noob question : How do you know its 1 not 2?

The challenge is that the power supply is likely running with almost no margin for adding a graphics card. This issue is compounded by the fact that swapping the power supply is not plug and play as with a motherboard you'd buy at retail.

Good luck!

Because I have it and only added the one. I think people weren't buying the right ram cause the info on the installed ram was hard to come by before buying and difficult to find once you realized what you really needed.

GTX 1650 low profile. Don't know why people keep making it seem like it's almost impossible to do. I had it and it runs fine.

You need a low profile gpu, those are less common. The new RX6400 would do, but performance is eSports level. Like DOTA or CSGO, forget anything higher. This thing has a 300w power supply. With the board and cpu, it has a power budget of 150 to maybe 200w. I will be hard to power anything with good power and low profile is uncommon as even itx cases will use a riser so you can stuff in a bigger gpu. The RX6400 is cheap and no 6 pin header, it might be good if you are into eSports. In theory, you can use a 16x riser and rig secondary PS and use any card you want, but that is a little extreme. I have done it, I works, but a little wonky.

Looks like a good deal but it sucks most of these good deals are only for smaller form factor PCs. Specs look like a decent upgrade from my computer's i7-3770 and 8gb ddr3. If this was full size I'd jump on it and put my 600w EVGA power supply and GTX 1060 3gb in it.
So get a cheap PC case and transplant it

Since this is an 11th gen i5 processor it will run Windows 11. Has anyone had any problem doing that?

It does have 2 slots. You're jumping in halfway through that conversation. If you go back and read from post #7 it will make more sense.

Will the HDMI v1.4 drive a 32" curved 2560 x 1440 monitor?

If not, is there any easy and cheap fix for that?
Assuming you don't mind the monitor operating at a refresh rate unusable for twitch gaming (60Hz at best, or even as low as 30Hz) then you're likely fine for functional productivity (ultrawide Excel). Note that support for some resolutions isn't always the best [intel.com] with Intel's integrated drivers.

Good luck!

Got one for a friend that is currently running a system I built almost 15 years ago (!).

Should be a pretty good upgrade though I'm not a huge fan of Acer. Hopefully not too much trouble to fit an additional 3.5" backup drive. The DVD drive can be removed at least, who uses that in 2022?

Seriously considering one for myself. I would have to change practically everything on it though. I'm not sure $300 minus scrap parts is worth it for a CPU and motherboard (proprietary?).

Doh - even though the chipset supports PCIe 4.0, looks like this is using gen 3.

The reason NOT to go that route is a low profile gaming card of reasonble quality is going to cost bucks. You are better off buying a recertified gaming computer at a nice discount or on sale.

The 1030 is 100 bucks, The 1650 is 150 bucks. forget gt 710 or gt 730 will not help.

But the UHD730 is not that bad. 5 games compared. You could tweek down some graphics to get better results.

counterstrike games always play well.....most steam games will play fine.
