Ccc says it's been hovering at about $350-$400.

Unless for purpose only, if you are only going to have one portable miter saw, save your coins for a slider in whatever brand that is exponentially more versatile.
We have miter saws from back when Rockwell came out with the first 9" version and then with various 10" and 12", everyone wants to take and use the 12" slider's that are improving all the time. If I was to buy a slider today, it would not be the DeWalt that is still selling the old style with the sliders out the back that take up a lot of room from the wall. Perhaps a Makita.
I saw that earlier and pondered shipping as a gift. It is all the saw the majority of homeowners and DIYers would ever need, but a bit uncertain about the ability, the adjustability to 'tune' the saw for perfect cuts. And then there is the shorter warranty on refurbished. Perhaps for someone that uses occasionally, a Ridgid with their LSA would be a better option, but that Ryobi refurbished for $100 delivered is appealing. Still, a 'Helpful' for posting a reminder... thanks.
