Apple is clearing out old stock - rumors are Apple will soon launch both a cheaper more competitive TV stick with similar performance to this and an updated high end box type model that will more directly replace this 4k unit. For most it's probably worth waiting as the advantages of this unit over much cheaper streaming sticks are pretty minor.
Pros:
802.11ax 5ghz support (similar to Fire TV 4k Max)
Snappy performance (similar to Fire TV 4k Max)
Minimal ads / good content curation (similar to Chromecast)
HDMI 2.1
Siri Remote
Cons:
Software not as developed as Chromecast / Fire TV
Missing support for TrueHD, DTS-HD, and more critically AV1 codec

As far as I know, no streaming device lets you download shows or movies to them.
I dumped my Roku Ultra because it was crashing, but aside from that.. it just works. Every single time. Video quality is great and we haven't had any issues. If you already have a working streaming device (and don't need stuff like AirPlay or Apple Arcade), just stick with what you have til it's time to upgrade. It's a good device but if your usage is on the less demanding side, it doesn't make sense to ditch what you have and spend extra money.

Kind of regretted not getting it back then.
Looks like Nvidia/Android devices can't play full res audio 24 or 32 bit I don't recall and 384Khz from Amazon Music/Tidal/Qobuz etc.
BTW I have no interest in Apple Music.
Looks like. I'd still have to get a dedicated music streamer... Am I wrong?
