Just for reference, last time it was $610, but with 10% maillist coupon, then AMEX offer took off another $120, and CB from your favorite site( or just use SD's portal), I ended up being tad over $400 OTD for me, for an IPS 34" UW 120hz monitor, I say not bad.

Ahh okay, thanks for the detail. Been only recently shopping for a gaming screen. Looking at what they have now the 34" OLED(?) and the larger IPS, but both are way out of my budget!
AMEX barely covers the tax on it. Should probably hold out for BF.

I'm using a 43" TCL 4k screen now, and the picture is good, but I'm just tired of dealing with a TV for a monitor. The annoyances with sleep/turning off/on, volume, etc. Want to just have a nice gaming screen that will last me a long time.

I second this recommendation. Pick up the 48" OLED by LG if you can fit it. i recently bought the 42" C2 because that's what I can fit in my bedroom, but ultimately decided to return it for the high $1400 I bought it for and ordered the $800 48" and deal with trying to fit it.
I also own the 34GP83A LG which is the equivalent to this deal. Best set up is an ultra wide monitor for e-sports and productivity, work and excel sheets, and the LG OLED as your 2nd monitor for AAA single player games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Witcher 3, console gaming, etc. If you can only have one screen, I would pick the 48" OLED for $800. if you have money for a LG C2 or Alienware OLED, it's better to buy this deal and a 48" OLED for the same amount of money.
I got the 34" VA gigabyte for $299 and very happy with the deep blacks. Are people really paying $600-$1000 for IPS glow? and its only rated at 400 nits...i am very glad VA cost way less because i cant stand IPS glow in black scenes,
For gaming specifically, the issue is I have an 65 LG OLED as well. And once you use oled for gaming, you don't really want to go back - picture quality wise (colors specifically) games always look better on oled. I have a gtx 3090 that can take full advantage of the gsync/frame rate this monitor provides but OLED still looks better to me PQ wise.
Once the Alienware oled monitor gets in the 800-1000 range I'll buy that and use this as a good backup
